Successful record of caravan live 2021 – with around 120 exhibitors bigger than ever
From the 30th September to 3. October, the fifth edition of caravan live took place at Messe Freiburg – with resounding success: With a total of around 17,500 visitors, this year’s caravan live was the most popular since its foundation in 2017. Around 120 exhibitors presented a wide range of camping vehicles and suitable accessories in all four exhibition halls, in the central foyer, in the foyer and on the outdoor area. Many interested parties took the opportunity to take a look at the different models of the approximately 70 vehicle brands exhibited and get comprehensive advice. Exhibitors recorded high demand in the field of compact coaches and vans. The new caravan live supporting program, which premiered this year, also received particular interest: 14 experienced camping enthusiasts, Youtubers and bloggers opened the doors of their own camping vehicles as part of the VanFan Camp and thus gave visitors an exclusive insight. Exciting lectures and interviews rounded off the extensive program.

After Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) has been operating the Freiburg vaccination center in the past nine months, the municipal society is now pleased about the successful resumption of trade fair business: “With the caravan live event, we are not only returning to our core business, but are also allowed to deal with the topic of travel and leisure, which is a great motivation in every respect in times of the pandemic,” says Daniel Strowitzki, Managing Director of Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM). By initiating this trade fair format, we reacted to a steadily increasing trend a few years ago. This is now paying off: We were very well booked early and have almost doubled the number of exhibitors since the start in 2017. In addition, we have again successfully held a trade fair under corona conditions this year – compliance with hygiene and social distancing rules as well as the 3G rule has worked wonderfully on the part of all parties involved.”
The exhibitors also draw a positive balance: “We are really enthusiastic about the entire organization and will definitely be there again next year. The VanFan Camp with the Youtubers in the outdoor area was also an enrichment for the fair, reports Bernd Benz, Managing Director of Remectro GmbH, who was there live as an exhibitor for the first time at caravan. The quality of the visitors was again very good this year and we made many purchases on site, sums up Alexander Werner, Operations Manager of Freizeit Mobile Teck GmbH.
Oliver Troll from TW & Fischer Wohnmobile, who was also an exhibitor for the first time, adds: “I greatly appreciate the regional fair with its good visitor quality. We are sure to also do a good trade fair after-business and will be happy to be there again next year.”
Frank Heidtmann from Solbio BVBA confirms the positive balance sheet: “Super planning and organization of the fair with the right selection of exhibitors. The VanFan Camp and the stage program have been very successful. Our biological sanitary fluids were very well received in Freiburg – we are almost sold out.”
Caravanning fans can already look forward to the coming year: The next caravan live will take place from 6th to 9th October 2022.
