【ES】IFEMA MADRID inaugurates with ESTRO 2021 the return to Madrid of major international congresses

  • The European Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology celebrates its first face-to-face congress after the pandemic in a hybrid format, combining face-to-face exhibition, talks, seminars and physical presentations, with streaming.
  • During the coming months IFEMA MADRID will host other major international congresses that will meet in the Spanish capital, such as World ATM Congress, IEEE GLOBECOM 2021 or World Pandemics Forum, among others.

IFEMA MADRID hosts from 27 to 31 August the ESTRO 2021congress, organized by the European Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology. An important event that inaugurates the return to Madrid of important international congresses after the pandemic and that will mark the passage of other outstanding events planned over the coming months.

Thus, for the first time Madrid -and specifically IFEMA MADRID- receives this congress, which will give visibility to radiation oncology both in the scientific field, as well as in the public sphere and civil society. With more than 13,000 m2 exhibition and plenary areas, ESTRO will receive more than 3,000 professional attendees and exhibitors from all over the world who, for five days, will debate at the Fairgrounds around all the novelties and challenges of the future of radiotherapy and medical oncology.

IFEMA MADRID leads the celebration of major congresses and international MICE events in Spain, with the return to face-to-face activity after the break caused in recent months by the COVID-19 crisis. In this sense, the calendar of the institution for the coming months contemplates the celebration of other important international congresses, such as World ATM Congress, the largest world congress specialized in air traffic management and that returns to IFEMA MADRID after the pandemic; IEEE GLOBECOM 2021,from the global communications sector, or World Pandemics Forum, the world meeting in which global issues and challenges that serve as a starting point for the construction of new medical regulations and protocols will be raised, organized by IFEMA MADRID and JM Congress.

Likewise, September will be the month of start of activity for IFEMA MADRID, which is preparing to recover the calendar of the last quarter of 2021, with the programming of around 60 fairs, congresses and events in its enclosures, and the return of important events such as Intergift, Bisutex and Madrid Joya, MOMAD, 100×100 Pets, MBFWM, Digicom, Promogif, Fruit Attraction, 1001 Weddings, Salón Gourmets, Salón Look, WATM Congress, Empack & Log and Advanced Manufacturing Madrid, TRAFIC, Farmaforum, Genera, Juvenalia, or the MBNFWM and Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida catwalks, among others, even with the creation of new projects such as the aforementioned World Pandemics Forum, Madrid Comic Pop Up or Vida Silver, also the return of the biggest show that can be seen in Madrid this fall, HANGAR 52 Revolution, by Mago Yunke.

All these events scheduled in the CALENDAR of IFEMA MADRID, will be held under the strictest security and mobility measures, in line with the restrictions in force at all times and the recommendations of the health authorities, and that have already led to hold major international events with all the guarantees of success since last March, such as FITUR, ARCOmadrid or MBFWMadrid, among others.
