- 3,000 Berliners are staging an invitation to visitors from all over the world: “Berlin loves you!”

At the Berlin Freedom Dinner tonight, 3,000 Berliners are celebrating a special event on the runway of the former Tegel Airport to send the message “Berlin loves you!” All over the world. The identical logo, around 800 meters long and 60 meters wide, was formed from 1,018 dinner tables. The tourism and trade fair metropolis of Berlin is thus setting an example for a new beginning and is looking forward to being able to host events and visitors again. At the same time, Berliners say goodbye to Tegel Airport, which for a long time was the city’s gateway to the world and is now becoming the innovative “Urban Tech Republic”.

The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, and the Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, Ramona Pop, together with Messe Berlin and visitBerlin, have invited to this special evening. More than 50 artists played in the accompanying music and dance program, including Andrej Hermlin & Family, the show drummers BÄM by Peter Fox, the tap dance group TAP Connection and other Berlin dance and music acts.
