Exciting stage program from the Ruhr area to the Panamericana

For the first time presence and digital chat with the destinations

Hiking and outdoor activities have become the megatrends in the travel and leisure industry. The feeling of limitless freedom: hiking, trekking, climbing, mountain biking or skiing becomes a very special experience with your own motorhome, campervan or caravan. This independent form of travel combined with activities in the great outdoors is in greater demand than ever and reflects that People’s longing for individual travel options.

Tips for a carefree hiking tour on “Schuster’s proven black horses” are in abundance in Hall 3 of the CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF. Because it celebrates its premiere this year with the areas “Travel & Nature” and “Equipment & Outdoor”. Travel destinations, camping and parking spaces as well as tents, awnings and equipment attract outdoor enthusiasts and caravanning enthusiasts.

There are well-known colleagues who have made the topic of hiking prominent around the CARAVAN SALON. The hiking magazine (Hall 3 / D20) and the Deutsche Wanderverband eV (3 / E16) are traditional partners of the fair with their valuable information about hiking and trekking.

And a stroll through Hall 3 gives rise to a real wanderlust: the visitors to the Carinthia joint stand (Hall 3 / E20) feel like they are right there in the Alps. Here, the southern sun meets rustic alpine charm. In the Tyrolean Zillertal (3 / E21), hiking enthusiasts will also find their favorite routes on 1,400 km, and ski cracks will get their money’s worth on the Hintertux Glacier all year round. The Black Forest region of Freiburg (3 / D16) promises breathtaking deep and distant views, rocks and torrents. For the first time, the Slovenian hiking paradise is presented in the heart of the Julian Alps, on the edge of the Triglav National Park (3 / A15). The picturesque village of Kranska Gora in the Julian Alps biosphere area, which has long been a competitive venue in the Alpine Ski World Cup, is an El Dorado for hikers, mountaineers, cyclists and nature lovers. And with the revival of tourism under the valid protective measures, hiking destinations further away are also moving back into the focus of trekking fans. The enchanting flower island Madeira (3 / F32) inspires with its steep cliffs and impressive waterfalls. Explore hidden valleys and caves and dare to jump into the cool water in between, stands for the Mediterranean island of Malta (3 / F24). Light sandy beaches and natural coastal landscapes characterize hikes in the Portuguese Alentejo (3 / F30). The Greek region of Epirus (3 / G31) with its capital Ionnina is located in the middle of the Pindos Mountains and, with the world’s deepest “Vikos” gorge, is even in the “Guiness Book of Records”. But action-packed or contemplative hikes can also be experienced close to the big city. Tips and suggestions for this are available at the CARAVAN SALON, for example from Tourismus NRW (3 / D15), which bundles all tourist activities in North Rhine-Westphalia. A stone’s throw from the big cities on the Rhine and Ruhr are the Siegerland (3 / D15) with the western foothills of the Rothaargebirge, the Lipperland (3 / E15) with its climatic health resort Bad Salzuflen, in which 600,000 liters of brine are supplied daily via the facilities Salt mining or the Arnsberg Forest with its holes in the ground created by ore mining and the adventurous “WaldKulTour” path around the Kahlenberg in Warstein.

After such exhausting day trips, caravanning fans love relaxing nights in a comfortable campsite or a romantic pitch in the country. With its numerous inspirations and destinations for the next camping tour, Hall 3 is the Mecca for camping trips. There are attractive and cozy places in Bavaria (Camping Resort Allweglehen, 3 / E32), on the Elbe (Camping Stover Strand, 3 / E04), at Camprilux campsites in Luxembourg (3 / E19), in the Valencia region in Spain (3 / E25), on the Knaus campsites throughout Germany (3 / A31), the Molecaten places in the Netherlands (3 / F28), on the Müritz (camping and mobile home park Cameroon (3 / F31) or in Zingst in the wellness area -Camp Düne 6 (3 / A23). They offer everything a camper’s heart desires.

For individualists, parking spaces at winegrowers, on farms or in exquisite restaurants are the ideal choice. Information on this can be found, for example, at Landvergnügen (3 / D13), an association of 1,100 rural hosts in idyllic travel destinations. Also included is MyCabin (3 / H27), an internet booking platform that offers natural spots for all types of camping. And under the motto “home is where you park it!” Roadsurfer (3 / E03) offers an ideal combination of the great outdoors and a campsite.

Campers who would like to conquer the far north will also get their money’s worth at the CARAVAN SALON 2021. Nordis Verlag (3 / E22) presents authentic travel reports from Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Numerous well-known travel journalists and bloggers are out and about in the north all year round.

Not only the presentations by the exhibitors on site, but also the informative presentations on the stage will inspire the audience in Hall 3. First and foremost, boat man Karsten Stahlhut, in his professional life managing director of the Federal Association of the Water Sports Industry, who professionally and technically explains the ideal combination of camping and water sports and the transport of various sports equipment and boats. Janette Emerich stranded with a group of motorhome owners in the middle of the Corona crisis 2020 on the Panamericana in Costa Rica and describes her eventful time. The industrial culture route close to the city is very different. It opens up the most attractive industrial monuments in the Ruhr area for tourists.

For the first time, however, destinations can also be digitally linked into the stage program. Under the motto “One journey, countless possibilities”, for example, Montserrat Sierra from the Catalan Tourist Board is showing the new self-drive route “Grand Tour” through Catalonia. With fascinating pictures, she describes the most beautiful routes in her home country away from the well-known tourist routes. The Utah experts Katharina König and Claudia Seidel from the Utah Office of Tourism are also online and present the uniqueness of their adopted home. 5 National Parks, 9 National Monuments, 15 Ski Areas, 24 Dark Sky Parks & Places, 28 Scenic Byways, 44 State Parks: Utah in the southwest of the USA is a place of longing with landscapes like on another planet.

This makes “Travel & Nature CONNECTED” an ideal combination of stage presence and digital appearance. It enables people on site in Hall 3 to ask their questions and to take part in the question and answer session via the online chat function, led by the moderator Alexander Maus. The entire stage program of Hall 3 will be published on https://bit.ly/programtravelnatureconnected .
