【DE】Ten cybersecurity start-ups in the pitch: audience decides who wins UP21@it-sa Award  

 

Ten IT security start-ups from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have the chance to win the UP@it-sa Award this year. They have already convinced the expert jury with innovative technical approaches and sustainable business models – and are now facing the vote of the IT security community: During the prevoting phase and on the 9th September in the final pitch event on the it-sa 365 dialogue platform. The winner will be on the 14th. October live at it-sa 2021 honored. The trade fair for IT security products and solutions will take place from 12 to 14th October in the Nuremberg Exhibition Center.

 

The nominated applicants pursue different ideas to strengthen trust in digital technologies. What they have in common is the innovative power for more data protection and the security of IT infrastructures.

  • brighter AI technologies

The start-up brighter AI reconciles AI requirements and data protection when storing image and video data.

 

  • Code intelligence

With a security suite, Code Intelligence helps companies simplify their software testing processes.

 

  • CodeShield

CodeShield competes with software that performs automated security audits and code reviews of cloud apps.

 

  • CyberTrap Software

The name says it all, because CyberTrap lure hackers into the trap to protect their own network.

 

  • Decentriq

Secure exchange and processing of data – this is possible with the SaaS solution from Decentriq.

 

  • LocateRisk

LocateRisk helps IT decision-makers with a report on the security of the company-wide IT infrastructure.

  • Nect

Nect enters the race with an app for fully automated online identification.

 

  • TrustCerts

Check documents for validity? TrustCerts relies on the blockchain.

 

  • XignSys

For secure authentication, XignSys relies on biometrics, cryptography and hardware security modules.

 

Nominated by the jury

The ten cybersecurity start-ups nominated for the pitch have already overcome the first hurdle: They convinced the expert jury composed of IT security specialists, industry representatives and last year’s winner asvin. The jury’s focus was not only on the degree of innovation of the young companies, but also the business model had to score points.

 

Voted online by the audience

Now the audience is in demand, because in the second round the nominees present themselves online in prevoting and in the subsequent pitch on the dialogue platform it-sa 365: In a first round of votes before the pitch on the 9th September, all interested users can already vote for a cybersecurity start-up. For this purpose, the nominees introduce themselves in short video clips, which are available on it-sa 365.

CyberEconomy match-up on it-sa 365 as a highlight

The highlight of the vote is the CyberEconomy Match-up on the 9th September. Here the finalists face the questions of the jury. The digital speed pitch is broadcast live online on it-sa 365 and offers the audience once again the chance to vote for the most popular start-up. The weighted voting results of the online ratings determine the winner.

 

Awarded at it-sa in Nuremberg

The winner of the already fourth UP@it-sa Award on the last day of it-sa, which will take place from 12 to 14 September, will be honored. October takes place in the Nuremberg exhibition center. The winning start-up can look forward to a 5-day coaching and mentoring of the Digital Hub Cybersecurity and the IT Security Cluster e.V. In addition, the winner receives special conditions for participation in the start-up area of it-sa 2022 with a total value of €10,000.
