Congresses and conferences return to Karlsruhe after a pandemic-related break / kick-off made 31. Karlsruhe landfill and contaminated sites seminar
For a long time it was quiet in the inner-city congress center of Messe Karlsruhe. Due to the pandemic, congresses could not take place, the Schwarzwaldhalle served as a district vaccination center and played its special part on the way back to normality. With sophisticated hygiene and safety concepts as well as digital additions, the congresses and conferences are now returning to the Karlsruhe Congress Center. The start was made by a true classic: From the 20th to the 21st October informed the 31st Karlsruhe landfill and contaminated site seminar on the current status, new developments and trends in the landfill industry.
Karlsruhe with its versatile fields of competence in the areas of democracy and law, media art and clever developments is the ideal congress location. Meetings and congresses not only share expertise and promote networking, but also generate positive, economic effects, for example, for the hotel and hospitality industry or public transport. We prepare the stage with our premises and our technical know-how and are pleased to make an important contribution to urban development, says Holger Klanfer, Head of Congress and Culture at Messe Karlsruhe.
Karlsruhe landfill and contaminated site seminar safely implemented
Last year, the organizer of the Karlsruhe Landfill and Contaminated Site Seminar, together with the Messe Karlsruhe team, decided to implement the seminar series as a hybrid event due to pandemics with a face-to-face event at a distance in the garden hall of the Congress Center Karlsruhe and an interactive online webinar with livestream, chat rooms, exhibition and discussion rooms. The then still quite young format of a hybrid event was greatly appreciated by our loyal participants in the current situation. This year we wanted to build on this success and also offered both a face-to-face event on site and the opportunity to connect digitally, explains Prof. Dr. Thomas Egloffstein from the organizing ICP engineering company Prof. Czurda und Partner mbH.
After a decline in the first pandemic year 2020, the traditional exhibition of specialist companies in the field of landfill technology and contaminated site remediation is now almost back at pre-corona level. 350 participants in presence and 170 online participants informed themselves about current industry trends from 27 exhibitors. We are very pleased that this offer was accepted so numerously again in 2021. In particular, the personal exchange on site proved profitable for all participants,” sums up Prof. Dr. Thomas Egloffstein.
From medicine to mobility: Further congresses and conferences are just around the corner
It continues this week with the Federal Assembly of the Federal Chamber of Dentists 2021, which will take place from 29th to 30th. October meets in the garden hall. The 17th Congress for railway managers and safety managers from 9th to 10th November will be streamed live from the exhibition center; the program on site with the possibility of networking closes with an excursion to the Karlsruhe model with starting point at the fair.
I am particularly pleased that we have succeeded in holding the STUVA conference of the Study Society for Tunnels and Transport Facilities (STUVA e. V.) – one of the most important forums for the entire area of underground construction – for the Karlsruhe location, says Holger Klanfer. From 24th to 26th November 2021, international tunnel construction and tunnel operation experts will meet at Messe Karlsruhe to exchange information on the latest developments in the tunnel industry as well as innovative projects at home and abroad. At the accompanying STUVA Expo, around 200 exhibitors from home and abroad present their innovative products. Karlsruhe with the combined solution, the light rail and tram tunnel completed by the end of the year and the conversion of the Kriegsstraße, offers not only the excellently equipped rooms but also an attractive theme environment for the STUVA.
Competent host and individual exchange in focus
Messe Karlsruhe assists the organizers as a reliable partner with professional know-how when organizing congresses and conferences. Individual advice and personal exchange are always the focus. Together with its customers, the team in the Congress and Culture business unit develops a suitable event as well as hygiene and safety concept that meets the needs of all participants and at the same time guarantees them the highest safety and hygiene standards. In cooperation with professional partners, new hybrid elements can also be integrated into the concept.
