【ES】TRAFIC 2021 is committed to sustainable mobility

The event shows the effort in R & D of this industry

A total of 57 exhibitors will participate in the seventeenth edition of the International Exhibition of Safe and Sustainable Mobility, TRAFIC 2021, organized by IFEMA MADRID, in Hall 5 of its Fairgrounds, from November 2 to 4. A call that has strong institutional support and the support of the main associations of the sector, and that on this occasion will emphasize the mobility of the future. In this direction will go the solutions and proposals that the exhibitors will present and will focus the debate of the days that will be developed within the framework of the Fair.

Under the slogan of “Connect to urban mobility”, TRAFIC 2021 will focus on the Safe, Sustainable and Connected Mobility Strategy 2030, aligning with the objectives set by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, MITMA, and the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, MITERD.

TRAFIC 2021 will be the showcase where municipalities can find solutions and see how they can launch their mobility projects. The arrival of the new funds will give them the opportunity to invest in digitalization, modernize cities and invest in infrastructure.

The sector is also in a scenario where connected mobility requires adapting the infrastructure to adequate levels of automation, especially on conventional roads, as pointed out by the Spanish Road Association, AEC, which is where there is a greater accident rate. Precisely to reduce accidents in this type of road is why the employer SEOPAN proposes to finance with the funds of the Reconstruction and Resilience Mechanism of the European Union. An investment of these characteristics would contribute to the much-needed adaptation of conventional roads to electric, connected and autonomous mobility. It should be borne in mind that, according to the Association of Infrastructure Conservation and Exploitation Companies, ACEX, Spain invests 22,489 euros/km in the conservation of our road infrastructure, which represents 50% of the average of the nearest EU countries (Germany, France and Italy).

To meet all these needs, TRAFIC, through its participating companies, shows the latest technological advances in Infrastructures; Smart Mobility; Parking; Road safety; Traffic management, and in the last sector incorporated into the Show, the Last mile delivery.

In TRAFIC 2021, you can see novelties such as the PF LED ONE V16beacon, by PF LED ONE – Sponsor of the Fair-, which automatically connects with the DGT and emergency services; the automatic diversions in snow situations, from SISTEM or the Access Control in the Lakes of Covadonga, from SICE – at the DGT stand-; the Airweb app and Paragon ID, which includes trip planning, real-time navigation, ticket purchases, and access to shared mobility; celering’s Dynamic Shuttle, which enables faster, greener and significantly cheaper mobility of people by optimising journeys and transport costs, while reducing polluting emissions; the eezon three-wheeled electric vehicle, as a new concept of urban mobility for fleets and services, safer, more efficient and sustainable; the intelligent helmet of LIVALL, EVO21 that has a rear light that serves to improve visibility in front of the rest of the vehicles, or the software of PTV GROUP, the PTV Visum, used by mitma to develop the National Transport Model (MNT) of both people and goods, among others.

. Analysis space

On the other hand, TRAFIC will host an intense agenda of professional meetings, in which the products, systems and services related to mobility that will be contracted during the next three years by the different administrations will be discussed, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The TRAFIC professional conferences will address the different challenges that this industry has to face, such as the Digitalization of Urban Mobility Management, with aspects such as Low Emission Zones, Electric Mobility in the city – its current situation and the near future -, and Urban Traffic Control. The Digitalization of Mobility will also be analyzed, and in particular issues such as Open Data; Big Data and Data Fusion, or the Digital Twin. As for the Intelligent Infrastructure, it will be analyzed from the slope of the Winter Roads; Cooperative Systems (The Connected Infrastructure), and Smart Tunnel 2.0.

With regard to Mobility as a Service, digitalization for interoperability and intermodality, the deployment of contactless EMV in Public Transport will be considered; ABT in Mobility, and MaaS Platforms and Services. Parking as a key element of mobility will be approached from the perspective of parking in urban areas; those of the metropolitan area, and the Digitalization of the reservation, the payment of parking and other mobility services.

Within the framework of the show there will also be welcome dinners, of the Association for the prevention of traffic accidents and NGO of attention to victims of accidents, AESLEME, on November 2, and that of STOP Accident, on the 3rd.

TRAFIC 2021 will host the sixth Women and Traffic Management Awards, by the Association of Traffic Engineers and Mobility Technicians. Some awards focused on recognizing the work of those women who from the Administration, the University and the Private Company have worked intensely for traffic and especially, to promote Traffic Engineering in Spain. The delivery will take place on the 3rd, at 5:00 p.m.

On the other hand, TRAFIC will enable, in collaboration with its innovation partner, Connected Mobility Hub, a space for debate and work, the Innovation Arena. In this area, companies and startups will make a pool to deal with mobility.

. Industry support

TRAFIC once again has important institutional support, that of the Ministry of the Interior, with the General Directorate of Traffic, the DGT, as the main protagonist, and the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, MITMA, with whose objectives the event is aligned.

Also present will be the Madrid administrations, the Community, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Infrastructure; the Transport Consortium, and the City Council, by the Government Area of Environment and Mobility, and the Management of the EMT.

Likewise, the Salon will have the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, FEMP, fundamental for the importance of the policies of local administrations when it comes to finding solutions in this field.

Among the associations, it is worth mentioning ITS ESPAÑA as the main partner, whose support is joined by the rest of the associations and entities that make up this important industry, and which find in TRAFIC their best commercial tool: the Technical Association of Roads, ATC; the Spanish Association of Parking lots and Garages, ASESGA; the Association of Companies of Conservation and Exploitation of Infrastructures, ACEX, and the Association of Construction Companies of National Scope of Spain, SEOPAN.

Trafic 2021 is also supported by the Association of Traffic Engineers AIT; the College of Engineers, Roads and Ports of Madrid; the College of Technical Engineers of Public Works; the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility, AEDIVE; the Foundation for Road Safety, FESVIAL; the Madrid Capital association of Construction, Engineering and Architecture, MWCC, and the Big Data Madrid Cluster.

Likewise, they participate as sponsors of the challenges of the Conference Abertis Mobility Services, Openvia Mobility, Voi Technology, Grupo PF Seguridad Vial, Avis Alquile un Coche, Airweb and Celering Smart Mobility Services.

The celebration of this edition of TRAFIC has the support of the Community of Madrid within the framework of a collaboration agreement with IFEMA MADRID, aimed at supporting companies in their digital transformation and internationalization, as well as the common objective for which both institutions work, such as the economic and international promotion of Madrid.

Madrid mobility 360 as the official TRAFIC App

On the other hand, IMF, ITS ESPAÑA, the AIT and EMT will collaborate in different activities and in the promotion of the Madrid Mobility 360 APP, as the official mobility APP for the Show. In this way, they will facilitate the planning of transport routes for those attending the event, the use under preferential conditions of the municipal public parking lots of EMT and free access to the services of BiciMAD and BiciMAD Go, between November 1 and 5, 2021.

To visit TRAFIC 2021, it is recommended that professionals register in advance, in the Visitor Registry link, and prepare the visit well in advance, through the Fair’s website, to achieve the maximum use of the visit to the Salon.

TRAFIC 2021 will be held in a completely safe environment, by implementing the wide range of anti-Covid-19 measures, which IFEMA MADRID has been applying in all its events, following the rigorous protocols recommended by the health authorities.

Global Mobility Call

IFEMA MADRID’s firm commitment to the mobility of the future, which focuses this new edition of TRAFIC, has led it to launch a new project aimed at leading international sustainable mobility from Spain. The new event, Global Mobility Call, organized together with Smobhub, will be held from June 14 to 16, 2022, with the aim of becoming an international benchmark and promoting from Madrid and Spain the debate and implementation of sustainable mobility policies, with a transversal vision to all the economic and social sectors on which it impacts.
