【USA】Out of the Office, Into the Apple

NEW YORK – The hotel industry has been savaged like no other over the past 19 months, and no aspect of the lodging world has been spared. The need for information and inspiration has never been greater.

For those who are still on the fence about a trip to HX: The Hotel Experience Powered By AAHOA, scheduled for Nov. 14-15 at the Javits Center in New York, the chance to get out of the office and focus on the business could be exactly what’s needed.

“You’re your biggest asset,” says CJ Arlotta, managing member of CJ Media Solutions, LLC., Stony Brook, NY. “Investing your time, money, and effort in continuing education efforts in the hospitality industry is an investment in not only your professional growth but also your personal growth. Your future self will thank you.”

“Today’s marketplace offers us tomorrow’s opportunities,” adds Bijal Patel (pictured), CHA, CEO & principal partner – Coast Redwood Hospitality, Santa Cruz, Calif. and chairman (2020 and 2021) of the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA). “HX 2021 will help each of us capture those opportunities. It’s where we can re-think, re-connect, and re-energize after too many months of distractions. I’m ready to learn about improving productivity and profitability—and have a little fun—then return to the office more informed and more inspired than ever.”

Inspiration may indeed be the secret ingredient in any trade show experience, and it’s difficult to get in a virtual environment. HX (co-located with Boutique Design New York) is the way to find that elusive ingredient.

“Life has become mobile,” says Mili Shah, attorney/hotelier/lender, Atlanta. “Gone are the days of sitting in front of a computer screen eight hours a day. I believe that we should be out and about in order to learn what is going on. We can’t see what’s happening sitting in an office all day. Going to events, networking, attending conferences and trade shows—are how deals are made. Long-term relationships are also created and nourished every time we spend the time, money, and effort to attend trade shows. We should continue a balance of office work and networking.”
