BOOT & FUN BERLIN 2021 will present from 11th to 14th November 2021 numerous premieres and novelties in the fields of sailboats, motorboats and water toys.
Berlin and new boats – that belongs together. BOOT & FUN BERLIN is considered one of the most renowned exhibitions for day, sports and family boats in Europe, with a special focus on boats for inland waters and coastal areas of the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean. In recent years, the luxury segment has grown enormously at BOOT & FUN BERLIN: large motor yachts, fast tenders and exclusive water toys such as foilboards and e-jetskis are booming. Slowing down on the water is also becoming increasingly important, with corresponding offers such as houseboats, specialized fishing boats and whisper-quiet motorized electric boats.
Berlin starts sailing
Sailing plays one of the leading roles at BOOT & FUN BERLIN this year. For this, the trade fair team has turned several adjusting screws: more boats, more active, more sailmakers. There have never been so many sailboats and sailing yachts. The highlights are many novelties especially in the sporty compact class and some very remarkable Berlin premieres. For the first time, the “wind experts” present themselves in the sailmaker center: Almost a dozen exhibitors show the canvas solutions of the most renowned providers of performance sails and cruising yacht sails such as North Sails, and Elvstrøm. Traditionally, the sailing class associations are strongly represented. Nowhere in Germany do so many active people from the sailing scene meet as at the “class reunion” in Berlin.
The Sunbeam 32.1, which is already considered one of the iconic boat models of the still young decade, will be shown for the first time as the Berlin premiere. The idiosyncratic look of the weekender from Austria polarizes with very modern lines – the designer Gerald Kiska has done a lot of work here.
The sporty sailboats of the First series can be seen for the first time with the complete model range. Originally from Seascape in Slovenia, the manoeuvrable boats have earned such a good reputation on the regatta tracks that the industry giant Beneteau has joined as a majority of its own for several years and has brought the legendary name of its own recreational boats, First. The four day cruisers, weekenders and cruisers First 14 SE, First 18 SE, First 24 SE and First 27 SE will be shown as Berlin premieres. SE stands for Special Edition here, which indicates that the boats have the particularly high-quality equipment of the Seascape original, such as a carbon mast.
The newly updated family sailing yacht Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 will be shown as a novelty. The Bavaria C38 is also frolicking in the large market of sailing yachts suitable for the south and the Baltic Sea. It impresses with the best sailing characteristics, simple handling and – typically Bavaria – the maximum use of the interior. Distinctive design elements such as the V-shaped bow and chines at the rear allow fast and safe sailing.
A Berlin premiere is the cool open Sportjolle Fusion Sailboat from Leeuwarden. The English boat builders rely on a deep and self-lencing cockpit, a particularly high tree position and easiest handling in their ergonomically optimized design by CAD.
PaperOtto is a foldable wooden sailboat that is said to have excellent sailing properties with its idiosyncratic hull shape. Up to four people can be accommodated on board. With a total weight of around 50 kilograms, it is not larger than a surfboard when folded. Due to the smart folding mechanism, the Italian-made boat can be reduced to such an extent that it can be easily transported on the roof of a Fiat Cinquecento.
Accessories for sailing
What sounds like a side note is a rather elementary thing: Overcoming a bulky furling cable saves weight, reduces occurring loads in the rig and makes the handling of the sail much easier. Helix Furling Gennaker from North Sails do just that. Since they rotate over the Vorliek to Luv like conventional gennaker, the sail provides propulsion even on low courses without losing performance on peak courses.
Laminate panel sails from Narwal are designed for successful regatta use and represented for the first time in Berlin. They offer maximum durability with minimum sail weight, including all reinforcements. Narwhal’s pre-stag persenning shows that products that have been on the market for a long time can be further improved. In order to minimize fluttering in the upper area in strong winds, a new design with very efficient lacing has been developed.
Motorboat selection like hardly any other show
BOOT & FUN BERLIN is one of the most important shows for motorized water sports, and not only since the Best of Boats Award held here presented and awarded the best boats of the year at Europe’s largest motorboat award. Berlin shows the most important brands from very compact to large luxury motor yachts.
Everything for the family
The Bavaria SR 41, presented for the first time in Berlin by Allert Marin, is the prelude to the new motorboat line of the Franconian series manufacturer. The motor yacht with two-cabin layout – noble owner’s cabin and spacious foreship cabin – and large cockpit with sun lounger and lounge area including table directly on the water is a holiday island. And that’s one with powerful motorization for cruises from bay to bay.
Linssen Yachts is showing the compact Linssen 35 SL AC model for the first time in Berlin. SL stands for “Sport Luxury” at the shipyard from the Netherlands. One of the most striking features of the SL series is the seemingly floating roof of the Sedan models. This effect is achieved by the anthracite window areas and frames of the salon. They visually merge the glass surface into a single element that seems to detach from the roof.
Alfastreet from Slovenia offers three Berlin premieres, and all of them are emission-free in operation, because they are electric. And the boats are spacious: The Alfastreet 18 Open and the 7.80 meter long Alfastreet 23 Cabin Evo with cabin are both designed for eight adults. The 9.79 meter long and almost three meters wide Alfastreet 28 Cabin Elektro – 2020 in the final of the Best of Boats Award – can accommodate even twelve people on board.
The Merry Fisher series is one of the most popular boat series in Germany. Certainly also because the Jeanneau boat type embodies the classic family boat – with dining area in the aft deck, bathing platform and enough space to sleep below deck. The Merry Fisher 795 of Serie 2, which is nominated for the Best of Boats Award in the “Beginners” category, is exhibited for the first time in Berlin.
The Marex 330 Scandinavia was long awaited. Announced with a sneak preview exactly one year ago, the ship now has its German premiere in Berlin. Marex provides salon area and aft deck with a large softtop. Thus, on-board guests sit either open in the convertible or protected in the good room of the full glider.
Long live sport
The boat center B1 – a boat manufacturer based in the region near Berlin – is certainly the exhibitor with the most boats at BOOT & FUN BERLIN 2021. The Werderan company has planned to show about 30 motorboats. All Brandenburg brands can be seen in a new design in the exhibition halls under the radio tower: B1 Yachts with the Premiere St Tropez 7 Shadow Series, Aqualine with the complete model series from the Aqualine 520 to the Aqualine 750 S. The Aqualine 750 Black Edition premieres.
The specialized fishing boats of the Finval Berlin brand come – with ten different and strongly tuned models – almost in a dozen. B1 has not only worked on the appearance of the brand shown for the first time at BOOT & FUN INWATER, but there is also great variety in technology especially for sport fishermen. The latest systems of the three major brands Humminbird/Minnkota, Lowrance/Navico and Garmin will be presented as user cases in three boats.
Seamachine from Hamburg offers two world premieres: The young company presents the Seamachine Challenger and the Seamachine Stealth, two fishing boats of the latest generation. The Stealth is the first fishing boat to be offered as an electric boat as standard. Seamachine cooperates with the Chinese boat engine manufacturer Epropulsion.
The new Jeanneau Cap Camarat 10.5, which will be shown for the first time at BOOT & FUN BERLIN, resembles a fun boat rather than a family ship as a day boat.
Velvette has been building fast and beautifully designed boats since 2008 – from fishing boats to dynamic cabin boats and strong day cruisers to the avant-garde 33-foot tender and the luxurious 41-foot sailing yacht. The classic sporty boats from Russia can be seen for the first time in Berlin. Velvette 24 comes as its German premiere. Elegant and “nave” in design, the blue car offers a practice-oriented division – with a large U-seat group in the cockpit, a well-made cabin with sleeping places for two adults and an underfloor bunk for two children. Best of all: The boats have a delivery time of eight to twelve weeks.
The ultra-robust rigid inflatable boats of the Alpha RIBs brand have its trade fair premiere in the capital. The eponymous symbol is on each of the very fast and safe boats. After all, according to exhibitor Marc Bieber, emotions are more at stake on the water than elsewhere. And about experiences that touch. All Alpha-RIBS models, which always glide confidently and softly with agile driving dynamics, can even glide through the rough seas.
The discovery of relaxation
The best-selling electric boat in Europe can be seen at BOOT & FUN BERLIN with a new design upgrade. The Frauscher 650 Alassio is a classic day boat that is quite solitist in its class due to large touch screens, a high-end audio system and its bow thruster.
It’s even more relaxed at Frauscher TimeSquare 20. The catamaran for day trips on inland waters is also an open-air lounge, an almost silent floating island with zero emissions thanks to electric Torqeedo motorization and a successful futuristic design design for early adopters.
After their German premiere at BOOT & FUN INWATER 2021 in Werder, the Sloepen from VanVossen are now coming to Berlin. The VanVossen 550 is designed as a positive displacement with its smooth-running double-walled aluminum fuselage. With eight to 15 hp engine, the sloop can also be driven license-free with a maximum of eight people. The VanVossen 650 has space for ten people, which is easy, stable and really fast to drive with a maximum of 100 hp.
Menken from the Netherlands presents the latest version of The CABXL. The robust tender is standard “ready to go”, with bathing platform, teak cockpit floor and interior lighting. The Berlin premiere is stable, agile and stable. The boat owes this to its heavy construction and the well thought-out underwater ship.
The Intender 700 reinterprets the Sloep design as a Berlin premiere. The side line is modern and kept almost clear. Of course, the boat powered by a Kräutler electric motor is a real Dutch sloep. Inside, it offers a lounge atmosphere on the finest yarn. Bath-friendly: With two simple steps, the rearview mirror can be folded down and then completely releases the rear towards the water.

A houseboat for the trunk is the InflaCat. For the first time at BOOT & FUN BERLIN, the inflatable catamaran, which fits together in the trunk of a car, will be presented. With a tent roof above it, it becomes an arbour on the water, in which up to four water hikers can accommodate. The following applies to locomotion: Zero emissions – either by stand-up paddle or, more conveniently, with an electric drive including photovoltaic panels for more range.
The Sunfloat, which can be seen for the first time in Berlin, wants to combine the advantages of raft, motorboat and a sun deck without the need for a boat license to drive. In 20 minutes, the inflatable boat with electric drives is set up, which becomes a moving island with a sun-protecting umbrella.
One board, four functionalities – that’s Maverick’s concept. Sailing, surfing, SUP paddling and standing sailing can be done with the fun device designed in Italy and made in England.
