In three days, the TIERisch fair will open its doors well and turn into a paradise for dogs and owners.
More than 100 exhibitors for dog supplies alone present an extensive range of food and care products, services, accessories and accessories. Show screenings also guarantee variety and entertainment. The special thing for dog owners at the fair: Dogs are allowed to accompany their owners to the site at ANIMAL good. Prerequisite is a vaccination card with a valid rabies vaccination, which is at least 21 days old. However, out of consideration for exhibitors, visitors and conspecifics, the four-legged friends must be leashed during the visit to the fair. In order for the dogs to feel really comfortable, drinking stations and a dissolving place are set up. The heart of the fair is also this year the 76th And 77. International pedigree dog exhibition. More than 5,300 dogs from over 250 breeds are expected here. Ulrich Reidenbach, 1. Chairman of the Landesverband für Hundewesen e.V., Katy Klimesch, project manager of the fair and Peter Kaspar, co-chairman of the Südwestdeutscher Hundesportverband, presented the highlights of the fair at this year’s press conference.
Climate protection through sustainable pet food
The topic of sustainability does not stop at the pet industry either – and rightly so: In its publication on the life cycle assessment of pets, the Swiss Institute of the ESU Service revealed that a dog causes an average of 0.95 tons of CO2 per year. Feed in particular has a significant influence on environmental pollution. Sustainability in this area therefore significantly reduces the carbon footprint. Some of the more than 100 exhibitores of TIERisch gut also have sustainable solutions in their luggage. But charity is also a term that can be found on ANIMAL. Many exhibitors contribute to the inclusion of people with disabilities as well as the elderly with their services or products.

Framework program offers information and interaction opportunities
Dog clubs are an important point of contact for dog owners when it comes to raising their four-legged friend or implementing commands. The dogs also make social contacts there. But this is exactly what is only possible to a limited extent due to the ongoing corona pandemic. For this reason, the Landesverband Baden-Württemberg für Hundewesen e. V. (VDH) as an important partner of the fair not only the 76th and 77th International pedigree dog exhibition, but also contributes his expertise in responsible husbandry and breeding of dogs to the fair. For example, TIERisch gut offers a variety of pedigree dog information stands, which, in addition to educating about the characteristics and requirements of the different breeds, also offer information on dog training and education.
The aspect of species-appropriate utilization of dogs is also taken up at the fair. Visitors can get to know the dog sports Dog Dancing and Dog Frisbee as well as Obedience and Rally-Obedience. Obedience is called the supreme discipline among dog sports. The focus is on obedience and joyful teamwork between dog and human. The harmonious, fast and exact execution of the exercises is evaluated. The dog sport “Hoopers” is also part of the supporting program this year. Presented by the Southwest German Dog Sports Association (swhv), expert Sandra Hekel-Würth shows what this obstacle course, consisting of so-called hoops, tunnels, barrels and gates, entails.
