【DE】Original, extraordinary, and creative – the Nordlichter in Hamburg

From January 15 to 17, 2022, Nordstil in Hamburg will once again be the meeting place for retailers. Visitors will find distinctive design and surprising product news at the Nordlichter area. In the popular area in Hall B4, 28 designers, start-ups, university graduates as well as small manufactories will show their refreshing product ideas.

From sustainable folding cards, to trendy hoodies, innovative designs, beautiful decorative as well as home accessories, and gender-appropriate playing cards, the Nordlichter has it all. “All the products have something unusual and original that sets them apart from the mainstream. They have the potential to become the focal points of any assortment. With their subtle and often surprising product ideas, the Nordlichter at Nordstil are setting the course towards new, contemporary concepts and offerings,” says Susanne Schlimgen, Director Nordstil.


Authentic and sustainable are the products of Nicole Willmanns with her label nw-pur. With the cards and gift ideas, the Hamburg/Germany label wants to help give joy and create moments of happiness – and all that sustainably on grass paper. With cheeky labels from the far north, the products quickly become eye-catchers.


The label “Spielköpfe” turns images upside down with their visual language – and thus playfully moves into an equal world: gender-appropriate, diverse, and sustainable. The motto: Change your game to change how you think. The card King of Spades, for example, is half male, and half female. The three partners of the label, Samantha Schwickert, Carolin Bach, and Jana Fischer, want to drive change towards a fairer and more equal world.


Meike Kreie, the founder of “SeaYa-The Coast Studio”, combines various natural factors with fashion. She prefers to draw inspiration and energy for her project from the sea. In her Coast Studio, the urban lifestyle and the raw power of the sea are juxtaposed. In an airy t-shirt or a cozy hoodie, both parameters are brought together in one product. The Hamburg designer produces fashion exclusively under the principle of sustainability. In this way, of course, she wants to relieve the environment and bring nature a little closer to the people.


Clearly structured, honestly produced and Scandinavian inspired are the products of Ravare. The principle is as simple as it is brilliant: Small practical organizational helpers such as document folders, organizers, tablet or laptop sleeves make life easier and that everyday. The individual and functional helpers are made of vegan felt and all handmade in Leipzig/Germany. Designer Jenny Ullmann develops her products to fit timelessly and independently of trends and fashion.


The “Grow-Grow Nut” founders Christian Zinke and Manuel Voigt attach great importance to sustainability. With just one plant on the windowsill, you can achieve great successes in nature. For example, for one Grow-Grow Nut grown, a tree is planted in a crisis area to combat global warming. The concept creates desire and attracts supporters with a penchant for healthy eating: Since mid-2019, Grow-Grow Nuts has so planted more than 200,000 trees. So while you’re doing good for the environment, you’re also doing good for yourself: microgreens have more vitamins and nutrients than other vegetables and fruits.


The next Winter Nordstil will take place from January 15 to 17, 2022, and the next Summer Nordstil from July 23 to 25, 2022.




Nordstil is the order platform for Northern Germany and Scandinavia. It offers a comprehensive product range divided into the following product areas of Home & Garden, Style & Design, Kitchen & Gourmet, Gifts & Stationery and Jewellery & Fashion.
