Perimeter Protection, the International Exhibition for Perimeter Protection, Fencing and Building Security, will be held for the seventh time at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 18 to 20 January 2022. With about two months to go before the event, Perimeter Protection is once again set to demonstrate that its clear focus on security for perimeter zones and outdoor areas hits just the right nerve in the sector. Bookings already account for more than 95 percent of the total exhibition space used in 2020, with 24 new exhibitors attending. Trade visitors can look forward to an event that will reflect the entire spectrum of mechanical, electrical and electronic security solutions for perimeter protection. New this year is the integration of the U.T.SEC platform, which focuses mainly on the technical, legal and practical opportunities available for the use of drones and other unmanned technologies, and for defence against such systems.
Thanks to two new partner entities, the no-cost Trade Forum will offer even more accumulated expert knowledge on all kinds of subjects with a security angle.
Preparations for Perimeter Protection 2022 are currently running at full speed. Hanna Schneider (née Hauser), Manager Perimeter Protection at NürnbergMesse, can offer a very positive outlook with just over two months still to go: “Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, these positive figures are putting us in a good frame of mind. We will soon surpass the amount of exhibition space used last time, visitors can look forward to more than 24 new exhibitors, and international registrants already account for more than 40 percent of the companies that have registered. That confirms once again that our strategy is just right for the European market.”
Something that is only of tangential interest at other exhibitions is a key focus in Nuremberg: the fact that Perimeter Protection is the only exhibition to focus on the security of perimeter zones and outdoor areas, and presents the combination of mechanical, electrical and electronic security technology more comprehensively than any other event creates many advantages. “Of particular relevance is the intensive, personal contact both between ourselves as organizers and the industry, and between the experts and decision-makers,” Schneider continues. “By clearly focusing the exhibition in this way, we ensure a high level of quality and avoid missing any of our targets. In 2020, for example, 93 percent of the trade visitors were directly involved in the decision-making processes within their companies. For an exhibition, that represents huge value. We know exactly what moves the industry and can home in on the latest topics of interest, thanks also to our honorary sponsor, of course, the Gütegemeinschaft Metallzauntechnik (Metal Fence Technology Association), and our partner, the Verband für Sicherheitstechnik (Association for Security Technology, VfS).”
Hygiene strategy: Personal networking – for sure!
In collaboration with the Bavarian state government and the trade fair companies in the state, NürnbergMesse has developed a robust hygiene strategy to enable safe attendance at Perimeter Protection. This is based on the incidence-independent umbrella hygiene strategy for trade fairs and exhibitions that applies in Bavaria. Specific measures to protect exhibition participants include regular air exchange and a state-of-the-art ventilation plan, social distancing based on space and capacity management, hygiene precautions on-site, digital registration and access systems, and thus the opportunity for contact tracing. All participants must also observe the “TVR” principle (valid proof of Testing, Vaccination or Recovery).

New: Integration of the exhibition U.T.SEC@Perimeter Protection
One of the special topics at this exhibition is the monitoring and securing of air space against unmanned flying objects. It brings together technical, legal and practical aspects of the detection and use of drones and other unmanned technologies, and defence against these systems.
Trade forum reports on latest developments in the industry
In collaboration with VfS, UAV Dach e.V. and Curpas e.V., the trade forum at Perimeter Protection 2022 will offer even more expert knowledge in condensed form in a single location. It will provide an opportunity to discuss topics of current interest, innovative approaches and novel solutions in the areas of perimeter protection, fencing and building security and drone technologies with prominent industry experts on all three days of the exhibition. The programme ranges from the “smart gate” as part of a security strategy through to the use of drones to expand safety strategies using dynamic systems.
