The 11th Leipzig Veterinary Congress including the vetexpo trade fair will be postponed due to the current pandemic development and now invites from 7th to 9th July 2022 to the Leipzig exhibition center. Purchased tickets remain valid. The booked space is also guaranteed for exhibitors.
“We have decided with a heavy heart to postpone the event until next summer,” explain Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, and Congress President Prof. Dr. Uwe Truyen from the Institute of Animal Hygiene and Public Veterinary Services of the University of Leipzig on behalf of the organizers. “We take this step into account for the promise we make to our exhibitors, speakers, participants and visitors and that we cannot guarantee under these conditions that change at very short notice, as well as in view of planning security for the industry,” says Buhl-Wagner and Truyen adds: “The health of all is our top priority.”
The current Corona Emergency Ordinance of the Free State of Saxony prohibits major events, trade fairs and congresses. The development in the coming weeks is not foreseeable due to the dynamic pandemic situation, says Buhl-Wagner and Truyen. Therefore, the Leipzig Veterinary Congress will not take place as planned in January 2022.
Since its premiere in 1998, the Leipzig Veterinary Congress, which takes place every two years and vetexpo trade fair, has developed into the largest training event for veterinarians in the German-speaking world and one of the leading specialist platforms in the industry in Europe and recently recorded 6,200 participants from 26 countries. The Leipzig Veterinary Congress is organized jointly by the Leipzig Trade Fair, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Leipzig and the Veterinary Chambers in Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
The Leipzig Veterinary Congress focuses on practice- and application-oriented continuing education, which cannot be adequately presented in a purely virtual form. Buhl-Wagner and Truyen emphasize: “Last but not least, personal exchange and the still family character are among the core elements of the event. We are betting that this will be possible again next summer. See you from the 7th to the 9th July 2022!”
Exhibitors and visitors will be notified separately about the exact procedure.
