The latest consumer and product trends, innovations and start-up pitches complement the industry-relevant exhibitor offer on site
In a few weeks, the time has finally come again: The international confectionery and snack industry will come after a two-year break from the 30th. January to 02. February 2022 finally together again in the Cologne exhibition halls. With currently around 1,200 registered exhibitors from more than 60 countries, ISM offers a good starting point to get off again in January. With the safety and hygiene concept #B-SAFE4business as well as the 3G access regulation CH3CK, the world’s leading trade fair for confectionery and snacks ensures the highest level of safety for participating companies and visitors.
As a leading industry meeting, our main concern is to make the re-start for the industry as secure as possible. At the same time, we want to set new accents with new topics as part of our event and congress program. Expert lectures, special shows, start-up pitches and award ceremonies are just a few highlights that visitors can look forward to at ISM,” explains Sabine Schommer, Director ISM.
New product showcase
The New Product Showcase is a central place for innovation and has established itself as an attractive attraction at ISM. Trade visitors can take a look at the new products in 2022 in numerous showcases as part of the special exhibition “New Product Showcase” in the new Hall 1. In addition, the three most innovative products of ISM 2022, which were awarded at ISM Night, will be presented there.
Not only content, but also packaging plays an important role: The ISM Packaging Award powered by ProSweets Cologne is awarded for the most innovative packaging.
The Trend Court in Hall 5.2 is dedicated to the topic of trends in the confectionery industry. Different accents are set in three areas. New product trends and developments in the industry will be presented on a special area under the topic “Sweet Trends presented by Innova Market Insights”. In addition, trend presentations by Innova Market Insights and Euromonitor International take place several times a day as part of the Expert Stage. The Expert Stage is also the central place for knowledge and information exchange and joint lecture stage of the ISM and parallel ProSweets Cologne. Central topics of the industry are discussed from Sunday to Wednesday. The lectures will also be available as part of the digital ISM & ProSweets Cologne @home.
The entire program of the Expert Stage at a glance can be viewed on the ISM website.
In the Trend Court, 18 companies younger than five years also present their innovations and new concepts in the Start-up Area in Hall 5.2. The start-up area is located in the trend area of Hall 5.2 and is the first point of contact for innovations. In addition, all start-ups have the opportunity to present themselves as part of the start-up pitches. These will take place Tuesday morning at the Expert Stage in Hall 5.2.
New: Retail area “Finest Creations – hand-crafted”

This exhibition area brings together craft businesses whose visitor target group are pastry shops, confectionery and confectionery shops. The new exhibition area will also be located in Hall 5.2.
