【US】SHOT Show Insider: All Systems Go for SHOT, CES in Full Swing, and Much More

All Systems Go for the 2022 SHOT Show

This will be our final SHOT Show Insider newsletter before the show, because starting next week we’ll be welcoming you all—the most exhibitors we’ve ever had in SHOT Show history—to Las Vegas! With more than 2,400 exhibitors, our expansion to the new Caesars Forum, attendance numbers climbing by more than 1,000 every day since the new year, and getting back to SHOT business after two years, to say we’re excited would be an understatement. Right now, I’d put the Las Vegas over-under at 43,000 for attendance. I’ll be betting on the over. We can’t wait to see you all very soon. — Chris Dolnack, NSSF

CES in Full Swing Last Week in Las Vegas

Exhibitors and attendees from around the world are in Las Vegas last week for CES, usually the largest trade show in the city. I was in attendance there this week and was very impressed with what I saw. While the media and naysayers talk about doom and gloom—and the demise of CES—from afar, on site it’s a different story. Business is happening, new products are being launched, thousands are filling the aisles, and those in attendance are being rewarded for their attendance. Also, the amount of international pavilions was fantastic to see. The photos above are from Day 2 at CES in Level 1 of The Venetian Expo. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx

Time to Renew your Booth for the 2023 SHOT Show

Booth renewal emails were sent to all SHOT Show exhibitors this week to renew your booth for the 2023 SHOT Show. If you are in SHOT Show eXtra or Supplier Showcase, you will receive an email in the coming days. SHOT Show exhibitors are required to renew their 2022 booth for the 2023 show to guarantee participation in the 2023 show. Booth change requests can be noted on your rental agreement and will be addressed later in the spring. For now, we ask that you simply renew your existing exhibit space. If you have any questions, please contact ExhibitorHelp@SHOTShow.org. — Mike Clark, ConvExx

Shipping to the Show Site

We’ve received some questions on shipping to the show. Here is what you need to know:

Third-party Carrier (not UPS, FedEx, DHL)

The driver will need to check into the Freeman Marshaling Yard at 6555 West Serene Ave, Las Vegas 89139 on your target date and time. Drivers will be assigned a number and will be dispatched to the show when available. If you don’t have certified weight tickets, a full-size certified scale is available at the Marshaling Yard.  Please label all materials with the Show Site Shipping Label.

If you are using UPS, FedEx or DHL, please use the Show Site Shipping Labels when shipping your materials. They can arrive at The Venetian between January 11-17 and at Caesars Forum between January 14-17. All packages will be delivered to your booth by 8 a.m. the following day.

Personally Owned Vehicles (POV)

If you are driving to the show in a personally owned vehicle (no trailers or box trucks), you can participate in Cart Service. The service is available on Sunday, January 16 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. or Monday, January 17 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Freeman will load your vehicle and place it on a cart (each cart can handle a load of 3’ wide x 4’ long x 3’ high and under 300 lbs) and take it to your booth. One round trip is complimentary and additional trips are $100.50 per round trip. — Jenn Carr, ConvExx

Please, Wear Your Mask at the SHOT Show

In accordance with the current Nevada mask mandate, masks must be worn at all times while at the show. Security will be on site to enforce the state mandate. Please be aware that repeated non-complying personnel may be removed for non-compliance. So please, wear your mask. Enforcement of the mask policy will extend through setup as well as in exhibitor booth spaces. Please remind your staff and contractors to wear their mask to avoid any unfortunate complications at the show. — Lindsay Schaeffer, ConvExx

COVID Testing Available Just off the Show Floor

PCR testing and rapid testing will be available at the SHOT Show. Tests will be administered on a walk-in basis; no appointment is required. Nurses will be available Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Toscana 3709 Venetian (Level 3). A PCR Test ($149) has a 24-hour results turnaround and the rapid test ($49) will provide results within the hour. If you think you might be interested in using this service, please let us know here. — Lindsay Schaeffer, ConvExx

‘Know Before You Go’ Registration Confirmations

Next week, exhibitors and attendees will receive their final “Know Before You Go” confirmation. This email will include your barcode to print badges, information on picking up on site, as well as other valuable on-site information and links. — Cassandra Stock, ConvExx
