The most important international event dedicated to leather goods and fashion accessories is back. Doubled exhibition space, Scenario area and a special and strategical partnership with Mirta, the marketplace that supports l Made in Italy luxury artisans in the international markets.

New trends and leather bags and accessories collections, as well as the latest news from the leather goods world, return to the fair for the 121 edition of Mipel that will be held in attendance from 20 to 22 February 2022 at Fiera Milano-Rho exhibition center.


The prestigious international event, organized with the support of ITA- Italian Trade Agency and MAECI, will be presented in a creative format, with a strong reference to the world of art and avant-garde movements, with their spirit of renewal. Just like a movement, the event wants to provide a programmatic manifesto that summarizes the values it considers fundamental for its sector. With reference to the leather goods world Mipel wants to underline, through installations, initiatives and projects, six fundamental elements such as: a strong and recognizable brand identity, creativity in terms of style, sustainability for production from a conscious point of view, craftsmanship that does not exclude entrepreneurship, but rather goes hand in hand with it, as well as autonomy of management and expression and, finally, digitalization to embrace new means of communication and distribution.


For the next appointment, Mipel doubles its spaces, guaranteeing – in total safety – an exhibition of over 4000 square meters inside the Pavilions 1 and 3 once again together with MICAM, able to offer a unique and detailed vision of FW 2022/23 trends to press and qualified buyers from all over the world among more than 100 selected brands, historical brands and emerging national and international companies. A great demonstration of confidence in the sector by the participating companies and a sign of a gradual rebirth.


An important new is the interesting collaboration with Mirta, the marketplace of luxury artisans, which offers a virtual showcase to the artisanal excellence of Made in Italy promoting the business to consumers around the world. In 2021, the company, in fact, launched its second platform, Mirta Wholesale, the B2B declination of the platform for retailers around the world. The Wholesale project (https://wholesale.mirta.com/) was created with the aim of fostering the relationship between the excellence of Italian craft companies and independent boutiques around the world. In the spaces of Hall 3, Mipel will dedicate to Mirta an innovative and digital exhibition area of 250sqm, with fresh and impactful setup, in which will be shown an artisan’s selection from the platform. Totems and interactive elements will allow to discover more and to get in touch with this innovative reality. The company will also be actively involved in the creation of entertainment moments (talks, interviews, masterclasses), dedicated to exhibitors and visitors, which will animate the three-day event and will be available in streaming on Mirta Wholesale. At the end: before, during and after Mipel, Mirta will provide a section on the B2B platform (https://wholesale.mirta.com/) where each Mipel exhibitor will have visibility through a dedicated page. Mirta Wholesale will therefore become the reference digital B2B platform of Mipel event.


Another interesting news of Mipel next edition is the big return of SCENARIO, the leading sector of the event, where the new brands and the most researched realities of the accessories scene find their place. Confirmed also the special area dedicated to the autumn-winter 2022/23 trends presentation, as well as the Mipel Square that will be animated by events and talks of interest.


The hashtag launched by the most important fashion shows last September – #restarttogether – becomes for the next February fairs #bettertogether: synergy, collaboration and teamwork will, once again, be the underlying themes of the upcoming trade fairs in February 2022.


Mipel, in fact, will be held at the same time, totally or partially, with the other main fashion fairs. HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition, an event dedicated to fashion jewelry and accessories (18-21 February 2022), MICAM Milano, the international footwear exhibition (20-22 February 2022), TheONE Milano, the women’s haute-à-porter fair (20-23 February 2022). The cycle of September fairs will be concluded by LINEAPELLE (22-24 February 2022), the international business fair of reference for leathers, materials and accessories for the fashion, luxury and design industries, which will also include the second edition of MIPEL Lab, a trade fair dedicated to leather goods sourcing designed to bring together brands from all over the world with the top Italian manufacturers.
