the icc

Located in the heart of the UK, the International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham is one of Europe’s premier conference and meetings venues, offering an extensive range of first-class facilities.

From small meetings for just a few people, to international conferences with several thousand delegates, the ICC Birmingham boasts 10 halls and 11 executive meeting rooms, including its flagship Hall 1 auditorium and Hall 3, which can accommodate 3,000 delegates or provide more than 3,000m² of exhibition space. Dedicated registration areas and private foyers mean that multiple events can take place across the venue at one time. Organisers can also make use of the venue’s digital screen solutions to support events, including one of the UK’s largest media walls that can add value to events and brands.

The venue hosted more than 400 events last year, accommodated over 350,000 delegates and has been acclaimed with multiple awards, recognising everything from its position in the international conference market to its impact on British business tourism.

award winning catering

The teams at the ICC understand that food can make or break an event.  Fortunately, that is a view shared by their in-house (and multi-award-winning) catering team, Amadeus, who boast over 40 years of industry experience.

In 2017, the ICC became the first conference venue in the UK to gain accreditation from Food for the Brain – an educational charity which promotes the importance of nutrition in mental health and well-being.  Led by Amadeus, this means that delegates can now benefit from nutritionally balanced menus which support energy, concentration and performance.

a dynamic destination

It’s not just the venue that draws the crowds, but the location too.  Luckily for visitors to the ICC, the venue is located right in the middle of Birmingham, a city full of confidence, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.

Retail and financial powerhouses, award-winning architecture, advanced engineering and culinary excellence. It’s fair to say Birmingham continues to be a city that never rests on its laurels – always leading the way, setting new standards and pushing forwards to show the world that it’s one of the most dynamic, diverse and ambitious cities in Europe.

It’s also the home of more start-up companies than any UK destination outside of London, and has become a base for financial giants such as Deutsche Bank, Deloitte and HSBC. Of course, it’s not just the serious business community that’s attracting people and putting the city firmly on the world stage. It’s the seriously vibrant culture and lifestyle offering that awaits the moment you arrive.

venue credentials

Events aren’t simply their lifeblood at the ICC, they’re theri passion. Any event held at the ICC, regardless of shape or size, benefits from the game-changing experience of our passionate in-house teams. As well as knowing events, they’re also experts on the venue, and bring that insight and knowledge to every event, working alongside event organisers and clients to ensure they get the very best from the venue.

the vox

Welcoming events for up to 900 delegates, the Vox brings to the table an intriguing hybrid; a purpose-built venue, but set within a unique and immersive environment on the NEC campus and sat within the Resorts World Birmingham complex. You’ll find custom-built spaces, not comfort zones. The future-proofed infrastructure is used to enhance, not distract. And business as unusual is standard practice.

The team at the Vox believe that change is good. After all, it’s what keeps things interesting. It’s this thinking that makes the Vox Conference Venue a distinctly different beast from other venues. One that’s known for breaking event convention in terms of its fresh approach, modern facilities and unique 24/7 immersive location. Their super-powered venue drives creativity and inspires change, meaning delivering business as unusual is the order of the day.

escaping the norm is the norm

Opening its doors in September 2015, the Vox offers a fresh approach for those wanting an end to end conference experience including state of art conference facilities and significant event expertise. Located at the heart of the NEC site at Resorts World, it is the perfect choice for those who want an affordable but prestigious event in contemporary surroundings.

At the Vox, the business day can merge seamlessly into a unique delegate experience in the evening; whether it’s dining in one of Resorts World’s many restaurants, a cinema or casino visit, or attending a concert next door at Resorts World Arena, there will be something to suit every taste at this unique destination.

photo: necgroup.co.uk

The venue was designed to be super flexible, with a choice of spaces that work in so many different ways. The five flexible suites can accommodate up to 900 delegates and are divided by award-winning Skyfold walls that transform the spaces in minutes. There’s also three boardrooms alongside a spacious foyer with panoramic views and floor-to-ceiling windows.

bringing more to the table

Innovation and creativity aren’t just confined to production and content at the Vox, they also burst out of our catering offer, all delivered in style by Amadeus, our award-winning in-house caterer.

The Vox team don’t work from a heavily scripted playbook, but instead think fast on their feet to avoid repetition and create events that are bespoke to you.  And that is delivered in style by the Amadeus team, who have an innate drive to push boundaries, always presenting something new.  From ingredients, to presentation, cooking technique to serving styles, nothing is off the menu.

resorts world arena

The Resorts World Arena (formerly known as the Genting Arena), complementing Genting UK’s neighbouring new development – Resorts World Birmingham – the UK’s largest fully integrated destination leisure and entertainment complex.

Boasting a flexible arena bowl, the venue can be dressed to accommodate intimate academy events for around 5,684, or hold a total capacity of 15,685. With over 100 shows per year, welcoming over 700,000 people through its doors and ranked 27th in the list of ‘Top 100 Arenas Worldwide’ by Pollstar, the Resorts World Arena continues to provide world class entertainment and is regularly home to some of the world’s biggest acts who give show-stopping performances at the Arena including The Script, Maroon 5, Take That, Fleetwood Mac, Florence + The Machine and André Rieu.

photo: necgroup.co.uk

Added to that, the Arena continues to be a venue of choice for sporting events such as Horse of the Year Show, Arenacross and WWE. Resorts World Arena was one of the UK’s first purpose-built concert arenas and the roof towers are famous worldwide. The towers help the team to accommodate large scale shows like Lady Gaga, which remains the heaviest show to be held at the venue at 68 tonnes!

forum live

As well as great live shows, the Resorts World Arena is all about giving visitors ‘more than just the main event’. Following its £29million redevelopment back in 2009, the venue now boasts an innovative pre and post-show entertainment area, Forum Live. Forum Live has gone from strength to strength and now hosts everything from acoustic acts and comedians, to dancers and magicians before shows.

The Arena is keen to give back to the industry and provides local and unsigned talent with the opportunity to perform in Forum Live before headline acts take to the main stage.

flexible space

Flexibility is one of the Resorts World Arena’s unique selling points and the event team remains dedicated to putting on a great event for the client. Whether a full scale production or private product launch, the experienced team can deliver any event of any size. This was recognised by the industry at the 2012 Live Music Business Awards when the venue won ‘Best Venue Teamwork – Arena’.

Putting on a great show starts behind the scenes and the Resorts World Arena boasts experienced Technical and Rigging teams who offer organisers a one-stop-shop for touring production needs. The teams can provide a full rigging service, including pre-production preparation for tours – which is unique for a venue like this. And, being an in-house team means that they have excellent relationships with promoters, production managers and tour riggers worldwide, which helps them to achieve great results.
