GEVEL 2022, the largest live event for the facade industry, will be postponed to May 31 to June 2, 2022. The Jaarbeurs made this decision in close consultation with exhibitors and the industry. The relocation is due to the current lockdown, in combination with the informal nature of the event. The expectation of all involved is that the current lockdown and the corona measures will not be scaled down quickly enough to guarantee this. FAADE 2022 was originally planned from February 8 to 10.
Marisa Richter from GEVEL 2022: “Of course we would really like to see each other live, but GEVEL 2022 is really about meeting each other and networking. Together with the industry, we have analyzed whether this will be possible in the short term and we estimate that this is not the case. All parties therefore agree to move the fair to May 2022.”
Architectural firm UNStudio, one of the ambassadors of GEVEL 2022: ”We are really looking forward to meeting our colleagues to present our program and our exhibition for GEVEL 2022. However, our main priority is to have an enthusiastic audience that feels safe and comfortable in the GEVEL Arena. A date at the end of May provides more certainty to achieve that goal.”
Rob de Jong, director of exterior wall insulation specialist Sto Isoned: “We are in favor of moving GEVEL 2022 to the end of May. The social unrest surrounding the high Covid infection rate and the uncertainty about the Omikron variant are also important reasons for us to move customer events to the spring.” “We are very excited about this fair and are looking forward to sharing our interpretation of the Inception theme. A few months of delay is not the end of the world.”
About GEVEL 2022
The Jaarbeurs expects to be able to open its doors to the facade sector at the end of May. Every two years, exhibitors and visitors come together at GEVEL to share their fascination for the building envelope, and to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of design and engineering of the building envelope. FAADE 2022 has the theme ‘Inception’, which translates as ‘start, begin, idea’. More information about the participants, the programme, the ambassadors and accompanying activities can be found on this website in the near future.
The Jaarbeurs checks for each fair or event, in close consultation with the government, whether the meeting can take place safely. More information about what the Jaarbeurs does in this area can be found at www.jaarbeurs.nl/veilig.
