New and old proven: The MOTORWORLD Classics BODENSEE becomes the KLASSIKWELT BODENSEE again

Messe Friedrichshafen and the Motorworld Group announce that they will not extend the joint cooperation after Motorworld Classics Lake Constance 2022. From 2023, the classic car fair will again bear the original name Klassikwelt Bodensee. This was already carried out on their own by the organizers of Messe Friedrichshafen from 2008 to 2017.

After a furious start in 2018, a challenging phase followed for the Motorworld Classics Lake Constance; first caused by a recessionary economic development in the classic car market, then by the corona-related cancellations of the last two events. Together, we have now come to the conclusion that individual action by the two partners will be the best solution for our customers in the future, explains Klaus Wellmann, Managing Director of Messe Friedrichshafen, the consensual termination of the partnership. This will take place according to the Motorworld Classics Lake Constance 2022.

The now completed, active Motorworld locations Stuttgart, Munich and Zurich are located in the catchment area of the Lake Constance region. Our focus is primarily on the locations. We would like to thank Messe Friedrichshafen for the good cooperation and will continue to support the Klassikwelt Bodensee,” says Andreas Dünkel, Chairman and founder of the Motorworld Group. The Motorworld locations and projects are automotive worlds of experience for driving culture, lifestyle and events, which comprehensively reflect the entire range of mobility – from historical cultural assets such as pre-war classics and classic cars to high-end performance cars and super sports cars to visions of the future. The claim of Motorworld is to give space to this diversity. You will find the exclusive brand who-is-who of the mobility industry united under one roof.

Division manager Roland Bosch from Messe Friedrichshafen emphasizes that the future Klassikwelt Bodensee will once again focus more clearly on the original classic car topic: “We had to realize that our visitors and exhibitors want a pure classic car fair again without a large proportion of new cars. Although the proportion of sports cars and exclusive luxury cars is growing more and more at Motorworld’s locations, this combination did not ignite when it came together. Even if we are again thematically focusing on classic mobility, we will not lose sight of the future. It is quite possible that a trade fair for battery-powered cars will also take place parallel to the Klassikwelt Bodensee. Such a trade fair combination existed more than twelve years ago, when the Klassikwelt Bodensee took place together with e-Mobility World. Unfortunately, we were on the market too early at that time and the time for the topic of electric cars was not yet ripe,” says Bosch.

Next year, the Klassikwelt Bodensee will take place from the 5th to the 7th. May 2023.
