Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival offers the whole world of yacht sports from 20 to 22 May

The sun on your skin, the wind around your nose, the splashing of the water in your ear, harbour life and yachts in view: water sports are booming and the yacht family is finally celebrating together again. With the return of the Hamburg ancora Yacht Festival from 20 to 22 May, visitors and exhibitors will experience yachts and boats, discover boat premieres, trace adventures, develop wanderlust, learn tips and trends. For three days, the 5-star ancora Marina in Neustadt/Holstein offers water sports for all the senses. Workshops, stage program and live music on land, yachts and boats in their element, live demonstrations, water up close and expert knowledge at the jetties, in the exhibition hall and at the pagodas form the maritime world of experience of the largest InWater boat show in Germany under the motto: “More yacht, more life!”

In its 13th year, the Bay of Lübeck forms the fantastic backdrop for the InWater Boat Show. Heiko Zimmermann, the founder and skipper of the new organizer Yachtfestival365 GmbH, does not let go of this fascination. After a two-year pandemic-related break, the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival is taking off again and is sparking enthusiasm with the response among the exhibitors: “I really have to say: Wow! The quantity of boats, but above all the quality of the yachts on display, leaves nothing to be desired. Thanks to the innovations that will be presented, the Yachtfestival will become a premiere festival,” says Heiko Zimmermann and is looking forward to meeting exhibitors and visitors: “Yachting thrives on its emotionality. To smell, taste, feel, develop a feeling for the boats, that is what makes an InWater boat show. A day at the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival is more than a visit to a trade fair, it is an immersion in the yachting lifestyle. This is the future of boat shows.”

Information and entertainment on stage

The Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival is more than a boat show. It is a meeting place for the industry, a presentation area for visitors, an experience event for water sports. Not only the flair of the five-star marina contributes to this, but also the stage and hands-on program. “The highlight of the supporting programme will be Saturday evening from 6.30 p.m. with live music from the Trio Hafennacht. It should be a cometogether in the hopefully summery ambience of a warm May night. But it’s just an event in a wealth of program items,” says Heiko Zimmermann.

The offer ranges from a permanent exhibition of maritime art to wooden boat building courses for children to a look behind the scenes at Peter Wrede Yacht Refits. With knot science and stand up paddling for everyone as well as optise sailing for children, it becomes entertainingly practical. There are tangible safety courses for small groups during MoB maneuvers on excursions and world safety training in the marina. Tips on buying a yacht, yacht insurance, vivid lectures on sailing and trimming and mooring in the harbour round off the infotainment programme. And the picture-rich lectures on sailing in the Baltic States open up new horizons.

Expert advice from the suppliers

The jetties, promenades and streets in the 5-star ancora Marina not only invite you to stroll and enjoy culinary offers on the three days of the fair, they also offer an incomparable insight into the wide world of accessories, outfitters and supporters of water sports. In 85 pagodas, vehicles and trailers as well as at the stands in the exhibition hall, the exhibitors show their offers. Hulls, engines, electrics and sails require constant care by the owners. And the exhibitors of the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival show how to do it right.

Sailors will find a wide range of rigging at Kohlhoff as well as sailing wardrobe at the sailmakers of Elvström Germany, Joerss, One Sails and TT-Sails. Neustadt will become a Mecca on the weekend of the trade fair for advice on combustion engines, electric motors and engine technology. The specialist companies of Brockhausen Marinevertrieb, Bukh Bremen, Friedrich Marx, Omega Grey, Torqeedo, Vetus, VMG Marine show the possibilities of modern propulsion systems on the basis of their exhibits.

From the engine to the control of the systems, the electrics and electronics on board, it is only a short way – at the Yacht Festival in the literal sense. Because the suppliers in this area are numerous. Every owner will find here an offer tailored to his yacht. In addition to the motor technology companies, the electrical and electronics experts are also available with their know-how. Whether at B.I.S Electronics, Fellecs-Tech, Mörer Schiffselektronik, Philippi or Shrink Tech s.r.o.: There are numerous tips and solutions for corresponding projects on board. Anyone who thinks of an on-board supply via solar energy is well advised to contact Flin Solar. But there are many more ways to increase comfort, fun and customization on board. H+B technics supplies lift systems for the dinghy, Hermann Gotthardt has everything about navigation and audio systems, ThingsOfficer take care of the remote monitoring or remote control of the systems on board, Mare Multimedia provides on-board communication, Boatsign creates individual labels, the foam sisters Lübke have the right upholstery for every bunk and seating area, and Leathercare Ocklenburg shows how leather care works.

Security questions are also answered in Neustadt. Secumar advises on the various life jackets, Branduno on fire protection, Hermann Gotthardt on life rafts. The sea rescuers and the water police are represented. Of course, the Yacht Festival already offers a look ahead. Because the trunk care is back in a few months. All questions about paints, varnishes and antifoulings are answered competently by the experts from Yacht Pro Farbenvertrieb and M.u.H. von der Linden or in terms of antifouling film from Finsulate. Corktec Innovations and RoSch Yacht advise on deck coverings, and everything related to yacht service and yacht transport is available at J.B. Sonderfahrzeuge, Weihe Yachting, R. Klepsch and Schmüdis. You can immerse yourself in the middle of the water sports experience with the information provided by the associations, clubs and water sports schools. The German Sailing Association, the Sportbootvereinigung im DMYV, Germany’s oldest sailing club, the SC Rhe, Kiel Marketing, the sailing schools Well Sailing, Sail&Surf Pollensa as well as Sail and Surf Pelzerhaken and the charter company Dream Yacht Sales are represented in Neustadt.

Sailboats from small dinghies to luxury yachts

The range of boats on display reflects all the possibilities of sailing and ranges from the fast-paced 4.30-metre-long Beneteau First 14 to the luxurious, 22- metre-long Y7. Sailing beginners and fans of a lively and wet water pleasure expect dinghies and open keelboats, which are easy to use and offer direct contact with the element of water. The fresh First 14 is light, manoeuvrable and a guarantee of fun. In the class of boats under 10 meters in length, there are different constructions, each offering its own focus – from convivial sailing on the Aira 22 to the Daysailor with classic lines (Saffier SC 650 Cruise) and entry into a small yacht (Germanboats XP-19) to the performance cruiser (Winner 9plus) and comfortable cruise ship (Sunbeam 32.1). Three world premieres will be shown in this category of small yachts. The Aeolos P30 stands for pure fun in fast sailing with an exciting design, uncompromising lightweight construction and huge sailing wardrobe. It will be shown in its element for the first time in Neustadt. On the other hand, the Berckemeyer 31 Classic presents itself in the exhibition hall right next to the stage – a unique piece with a special history. Screenwriter Jan von der Bank has built the Kiel design in years of self-work, pushed the yacht out of the domestic garage only a few days ago and will present not only the family boat, but also the history of its creation in lectures at the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival. The latest development from Saffier stands for sailing with high speed and maximum comfort. With the Saffier SE 33 Life, sailing is just as beautiful as life in the harbor.

All well-known manufacturers present themselves at the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival with their yachts in the segment up to 12 meters – from the racers to the performance cruisers to the long-distance yachts from the shipyards Arcona, Bavaria, Beneteau, Dehler, Elan, Faurby, Hallberg-Rassy, Hanse, Italia, More, Nordship, Saare, Sirius, Viko or X-Yachts.

Fresh from Sweden, the Arcona 385 comes as a world premiere. The updated cruising yacht is based on a proven concept of the shipyard and offers safe and comfortable travel. The Beneteau First 36, the latest development since the merger of Beneteau and Seascape, will also be on display for the first time. Elegance, plenty of space and performance characterize the seventh generation of First yachts.

There are also world firsts in yachts over 12 meters in length. After initial test drives, the Linjett 39 presents itself to a general public for the first time. The yacht corresponds to the usual concept of Rosättra Båtvarv, which is known for dignified cruiser qualities in classic design. But the Swedes can also do things differently: With the Shogun 50, they have a carbon racer on offer, which can be seen in Neustadt as a German premiere

The Saare yachts from Estonia stand for versatility, and the world first at the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival underlines this. The Saare 41ac feels at home on long trips with a large crew, but also insists on the regatta track. New developments from Hallberg-Rassy stand for comfort on a boat length of 40 feet. With the Hallberg-Rassy 400, which is being shown for the first time in Germany, the Swedes are presenting a long-sailing ship with individual furnishing solutions.

Motorboats for quiet sports and powerful travel trips

Dinghies, fishing boats, fast ribs, luxurious yachts – motor-driven boats present themselves at the Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival in a variety of forms both on the open space on land and at the jetties in the harbor. One focus is often on the further development of the engines. Conserving resources, reducing emissions, saving fuel are the buzzwords. And e-mobility does not stop at water sports either. The electric drive on the Hellwig Milos V630 will present this in a world premiere. The Eelex 8000 also provides a glimpse into the future. The 8- metre boat from Sweden comes with a reduced design, huge cockpit space and 100 percent electrical energy and thus stands for an ecologically sustainable footprint in boating.

Despite the diversity of yachting, there is a common denominator: the longing to get on the water. The possibilities for this are numerous. They are not only evident in the large number of open boats and spacious yachts, but also in the premieres of Neustadt.

Saxdor comes to the Baltic Sea with two new introductions. The distinctive design of the brand is evident in the Saxdor 320 GTC. The angular deckhouse, the beefy outboards and clever construction ideas on and below deck make the 10-metre ship the ideal travel ship in summer. The Saxdor 200 Sport cannot hide its origins. On a boat length of almost six meters, it offers a powerful introduction to boating. With the manoeuvrability of a jet ski, but the ride comfort of a compact boat, it became the European Power Boat 2021 in the class up to 8 meters and will be shown for the first time in Germany. In the same size, but with a different concept, the Alesta SeaMax 620 Cabin operates. The German premiere proves that comfortable travel with a cabin for two people is possible on just over six meters. Day trips with up to six people under the cabin roof and overnight stays for two people are possible on the Ocean Bay 655, which is also only 6.5 meters long and is freshly exhibited in Neustadt.

One name speaks volumes: the Iron 707 is like an SUV on the water. Represented for the first time at a boat show in Germany, the design with a low focus proves a high seaworthiness and stress-free driving. A family boat in the best sense, on the other hand, is the Bavaria SR36, which shows itself after its new development in Neustadt: A lot of space, safety and comfort are the characteristics that the boat has to offer for travel with parents and children. Relaxed travel is also the measure of all things with the Sealine C390. The European premiere shows the concise hull design of the 12-metre yacht with its large window front, which merges the deckhouse and cockpit.

Yachts from the field of maritime dreams are the Sirena 58, the Fleming 58 and the Sunseeker 65 Sport, all of which can be seen for the first time at a German boat show. But the concepts could hardly be more different. The Fleming seems to have sprung from the golden times of the jet set in its classic lines, the Sirena relies entirely on comfortable travel in modern construction, while the Sunseeker unmistakably follows a design that reflects the power of the 20- meter yacht, which can be accelerated to up to 35 knots. However, it is still trumped by its big sister. With a length of almost 23 meters, the Sunseeker Predator 74 XPS is the flagship of the entire Hamburg ancora Yachtfestival.
