polisMOBILITY will take place from May 18 to 21 at the Cologne exhibition center and in the city of Cologne. The trade fair event sees itself as a dialog platform for all players in urban mobility. Accordingly, the strong partner network shows the entire content range of polisMOBILITY.
polisMOBILITY is the networked, international event for the future of mobility and urban life. Innovative, lively and inspiring – in the middle of Europe’s largest economic area.
Cities are the living space of the future. For a harmonious triad of work, life and mobility, new thought patterns and contemporary solutions are needed. The change is visible in many areas: digitization & networking, infrastructure & urban development, environment, diversity & participation. Just like Koelnmesse, our partners from the private and public sectors stand for a mobility transformation that is characterized by innovations and cross-sector approaches to solutions.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has founded EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative that has been promoting positive changes in urban areas since January 2019 in order to make cities more livable places. For the Cologne Chamber of Skilled Crafts, polisMOBILITY is the ideal platform to discuss the mobility needs of the skilled crafts sector with politicians and administrators. polisMOBILITY opens up new opportunities for the skilled trades to actively shape the mobility revolution locally,” says Hans Peter Wollseifer, President of the Cologne Chamber of Skilled Crafts. The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, ZVEI, is also a strong partner. Koelnmesse and ZVEI are united by the conviction that electric, networked and digital solutions are the keys to sustainable and safe mobility. “Above all, it’s about climate-friendly, technology-diverse and flexible mobility solutions for fast-growing urban areas,” explains Dr. Wolfgang Weber, Chairman of the Board of ZVEI.

Municipalities and administrations have recognized the need for a mobility turnaround and use polisMOBILITY as a meeting platform with each other as well as with science and business enterprises. The German Association of Cities describes the patronage of polisMOBILITY as a logical consequence. The Chief Executive Officer of the German Association of Cities, Helmut Dedy, adds: “Today’s responses to climate change, urbanization and digitalization will determine how we live in the future.” During the trade fair event, the city of Cologne will be testing how the mobility revolution can succeed worldwide under real urban conditions. In addition to the NRW Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy is also a partner of polisMOBILITY. The ministry sees the combined format of trade fair and congress as a strong signal for the restart of trade fairs, which is so important for the economy in times of the Corona pandemic, and confirms that Koelnmesse has hit a nerve with the topic of mobility.

The event illuminates urban mobility across all sectors in all its diversity, focuses on solutions instead of pure products and puts the challenges for cities in the spotlight. An innovative triad of expo, conference and experience anchors the topic of urban mobility both on the exhibition grounds and directly in the city.

From 2022 Koelnmesse will expand its portfolio with polisMOBILITY, a new hybrid event that shows how mobility in cities can and must be designed in the future.
