In May, the Karlsruhe Konzerthaus is all about social and sustainable projects. Two events invite you to an unforgettable evening with music and comedy, where good can be done at the same time. The charity concert Fantastic World of Film Music on the 27th. May enchants visitors with popular film melodies and generates donations for the project “No Cold Feet” of the Karlsruhe Home Foundation.

Culture returns to the stages. We are very pleased to offer the comedy and music scene in our concert hall an atmospheric location again and, in particular, to enable social projects from Karlsruhe and the region to provide a platform, says Holger Klanfer, Director Congress & Cultural Events at Messe Karlsruhe.

For the ninth time, the show format, which is supported by eleven regional Lions clubs and the Leos (the “Junior Lions”), entertains its audience. The more than two-hour show offers an extraordinary and varied program with regional and international artists who combine the different genres of the comedy and music scene into a brilliant show. Included are comedian Lars Redlich, the world’s most successful Swiss comedy show Starbugs, cabaret artist Aliza Kos, the Karlsruhe band Bonafide and Clown Jöörg with his magical assistant Tiffany Kim. Main organizer Jörg Trippe is pleased: “With the 9th Lion’s Comedy Night, we will crack the 1 million euro donation amount.”

The proceeds of the Comedy Night will be used for sustainable and social projects of the participating clubs. All from the 1st April newly generated revenue from ticket sales, donations and sponsorships will be used for Ukraine direct aid. Since the Lions are exclusively involved in voluntary work, 100% of the net proceeds are included in the aid programs.

Charity concert Fantastic world of film music on the 27th May

On Friday, the 27th May 2022, the Young Classic Sound Orchestra takes you into the magical world of film melodies. In addition to the soundtracks from Avengers, musical highlights from The Ice Queen, X-Men, Robin Hood and Ice Age are on the program. The approximately 80-member symphony orchestra consists mainly of talented and young instrumentalists, as well as professional musicians from the Karlsruhe, Heidelberg and Mannheim region. The aim of the Young Classic Sound Orchestra is above all to inspire the young audience with high-quality music events of a special kind for symphonic choral and orchestral music.

All proceeds from ticket sales go to the donation project “No cold feet”. The Sybelcentrum of the Karlsruhe Home Foundation in Südstadt stands for good educational opportunities, help, accommodation and protection for children and young people. However, the building, which is over 100 years old, must be fundamentally renovated. At the end of 2017, the Karlsruhe Home Foundation therefore launched the fundraising campaign “No cold feet”. The aim of the campaign is, on the one hand, to generate three million euros for the renovation through donations, sponsorship and third-party funding acquisition by the end of 2023 and, on the other hand, to raise awareness among Karlsruhers of equal opportunities in their own city.

“After the corona-related break in 2021, we are very pleased that the benefit concert can take place again and that we are experiencing this great support,” says Teresa Musacchio, facility manager of the Sybelcentrum of the Heimstiftung Karlsruhe, who thanks the orchestra and the cooperation partners, including Messe Karlsruhe.
