MOTORTEC MADRID closed its sixteenth edition, organized by IFEMA MADRID, at its Fairgrounds, from April 20 to 23, with an influx of more than 52,000 professionals in the automotive aftermarket sector.
The contest that was inaugurated by the Third Vice President and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, showed the most innovative offer, presented by more than 500 exhibiting companies and 1,200 brands. Figures that confirmed once again the Salon as the largest trading platform for this industry in southern Europe. He especially highlighted the high attendance of Workshop professionals, more than 25,000, which represent an increase of 10% over the previous edition and represent 48% of the total number of visits.
Among workshop professionals, the majority were mechanical workshops – 20.34% of the total -; followed by multi-brands (19.59%); independent (14.97%), tires (9.56<5), sheet metal and paint (8.39%); commercial vehicles (4.87%); dealership workshops (4.62%), and windows (3.76%).
More attendees and more specialized topics in the conferences, presentations and activities
The program of activities of MOTORTEC MADRID 2022 also achieved a record attendance, with 4,233 participants, 21% more than in 2019. Another of the strengths of the Fair, where topics especially relevant to the sector were discussed, which mark the activity today and raise the future taking into account technological advances and innovation.
This program, developed with the collaboration of all actors in the sector and the main associations, collaborators of the Salon, addressed the main issues of concern to this industry, such as electric vehicles, digitization, commercial vehicles, adas systems, tires, emissions, workshop legislation and their safety, service stations, or fuels, among others, thus offering a broad overview of this industry.
Within the framework of the fair, events of special relevance were held, such as the V Meeting of networks of workshops, and the presentation of the Study on the evolution of driver habits in relation to the maintenance of the vehicle -sponsored by MOTORTEC MADRID-, by GIPA and CETRAA.
Likewise, MOTORTEC MADRID served as a stage for the recognition of the sector, through different awards, such as the III Best Technician Competition, and the 18th edition of the Young Automotive Technicians Competition.
Finally, at the Gala of the 11th edition of the Innovation Gallery, the main innovations of the industry selected by an independent specialized jury were awarded, out of 38 product candidacies from 36 exhibiting companies, divided into 10 categories that represent all sectors of the Fair.
