Messe Freiburg: “Rauch&Glut” records a successful trade fair weekend with around 7,500 visitors

For the second time in a row, Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) organized “Rauch&Glut” recorded a successful result: A total of around 7,500 interested parties have from Friday, 29. April to Sunday, 1. May 2022 visited the BBQ Lifestyle Fair at Messe Freiburg. With around 60 exhibitors, Rauch&Glut has also grown significantly since its premiere – the fair started in 2020 with about 40 exhibitors. Particular emphasis was placed on regional dealers and butchers as well as on a wide variety of brands in barbecues. The extensive supporting program thrilled with many highlights, a total of 120 visitors took part in the almost fully booked barbecue and BBQ workshops. The daily barbecue competitions for adults as well as the children’s barbecue competition held today in the barbecue arena were also very popular.

“With Rauch&Glut, we were finally able to organize the first big in-house trade fair again after the corona break imposed on us. For us as organizers, it is nice to see that the enthusiasm of people to visit trade fairs with an event character is unbroken and the format of Rauch&Glut has once again been very well received, says FWTM Managing Director Daniel Strowitzki.

Liquidroast, who presented themselves in the start-up and manufactory platform Food Rockerz, are overwhelmed by their first trade fair: “The visitors were all very interested and we sold many table grills directly on site. We are already almost sold out. We are very pleased to have received such great popularity with our product, which is produced on the edge of the Black Forest,” said the founders Marc Holder and Marina King.

This also reflects the ongoing visitor survey on site: 95 percent of visitors stated that they had bought or consumed something directly at the fair and were very satisfied with the offer.

A chili sauce, which does not contain any additives and is vegan and gluten-free, was available at the booth of the Freiburg start-up Mary On A Cross. “We are mainly concerned with taste and not primarily about spiciness. We are pleased that our products have tasted so many visitors. We would be happy to be there again next year,” says Ana from Mary On A Cross.

Rauch&Glut is the most important trade fair in the region for us and we are pleased that we were able to make so many visitors happy with a new Weber grill. The atmosphere is great and the fair is planned with great attention to detail,” says Philipp Ulmer von Ulmer – the House of Good Things.

Michael Mutter, who is at Rauch&Glut for the second time with his company Mutter Metalldesign from Titisee-Neustadt, can only confirm this: “Our fire plates, garden decorations and metal beds are very well received by visitors. It’s nice to see how the fair has grown and developed.

The next Rauch&Glut will take place from the 10th to the 12th. March 2023.
