【DE】Mobile time travel for the audience of the Motorworld Classics Lake Constance 2022

  1. Motorworld Classics Lake Constance ends on Sunday with a total of 31,300 classic car fans on three days of the fair (2019: 38,100) – The personal encounter wins again

Friedrichshafen – Connoisseurs and lovers of classic cars, boats, motorcycles and airplanes came to the Motorworld Classics Lake Constance 2022 in Nostalgielaune. On the indoor and outdoor areas of Messe Friedrichshafen, over a century of classic mobility became an experience. 31,300 visitors who enjoy shopping from the international border triangle met more than 600 exhibitors, clubs and participants for joint exchange, talk shop, browse and be amazed. After two pandemic stops, Motorworld Classics Lake Constance 2022 is now once again giving a strong impulse into the classic car scene. Our well-attended kick-off event in the trade fair month of May once again shows the great strength of the personal encounter,” explains Messe Friedrichshafen Managing Director Klaus Wellmann.

When numerous classic cars and youngtimers around and in Friedrichshafen shape the streetscape, Motorworld Classics is Lake Constance again. Many fans of historical mobility took advantage of the weekend from the 6th to the 8th. May 2022 to arrive with their classic vehicles. The popular destination is the classic car park arena in the outdoor area of Messe Friedrichshafen. “It is already a feast for the senses when pre-war models, vehicles from the era of the economic miracle or the cars from your own youth can finally drive back to the fair in such a high density,” says project manager Roland Bosch at the end of the fair on Sunday. Our event proves that it is something completely different to offer old and youngtimer enthusiasts an on-site platform to capture the classic vehicles with all their senses instead of clicking through online exchanges in the search for a spare part or vehicle.” Exhibitor Heinfried Koselka, owner of the Klassik Garage Koselka, also draws a positive conclusion: “I generally only visit one trade fair a year, and this is Motorworld Classics Lake Constance – easy to reach for me and I have liked the concept of the fair since the beginning. However, due to the pandemic break, fewer colleagues are on site and many have not survived this financially. I was also skeptical at first whether a trade fair appearance would be worthwhile, but I have sold several vehicles and definitely still expect concrete inquiries about the fair.”

Whether in the classic car parts market, dealer center, vehicle private sale or the club areas, interested conversations were created everywhere and the visitors reminisce. This was also nice to see in the historic paddock. Between the start windows of vintage racing, the participants prepared their classic motorcycles and racing cars for their show runs on the 1.6-kilometer knife course. They proudly explained the stories about their vehicles to the wide audience and many a classic car friend radiated just at the sound and smell of the engines.

In addition to the numerous special shows with a historic campsite, aviation classics or Riva boats, Motorworld Classics Lake Constance offered a varied range of classic mobility in eleven exhibition halls. Leon Mast from the Mercedes Club summarizes: “After the long dry spell due to the corona pandemic, we are happy to be here and are represented at the fair with eight Mercedes-Benz brand clubs from Germany. Here in Friedrichshafen, our new club concept celebrates its premiere with a joint appearance from a single source. Our stand presence is well received and we meet many visitors here who are interested and enjoy the Mercedes-Benz brand. The beauty of the event is that classic cars can be experienced in action here.”

In Friedrichshafen, the classic exhibits have always not only been exhibited, but a driving-active supporting program celebrates the motorized cultural asset on the event days. Another accompanying highlight in 2022 was Bodensee Klassik, to which prominent participants and classic car friends started from the exhibition center for their trips to the surrounding area. The 14th The edition of the international trade fair for classic mobility in Friedrichshafen will take place from the 5th to the 7th. May 2023.
