After a three-year dry spell, the time has finally come again next year: There will be gambling again in Leipzig! From 14th to 16th In April 2023, CAGGTUS Leipzig celebrates its premiere, a three-day gaming festival from the community for the community. The event is all about experiencing games and gaming culture together – from playing with each other and against each other to exuberant celebrations to meeting friends, like-minded people and idols. The festival is divided into three components: the entertainment area with interactive areas such as free play, event stage and expo, a LAN party in its own hall and a stream area with exciting formats including emerging creators. The gates of CAGGTUS Leipzig are open to gaming enthusiasts from the age of 12, for the LAN party a minimum age of 18 years applies.

The name CAGGTUS takes up an element that has developed over the years into a cult object among LAN residents Leipzig: the cactus, which they were able to book in many shapes and colors in order to have another companion at their side during the festival period.

Gaming belongs to Leipzig and remains in Leipzig. With CAGGTUS Leipzig, we are fulfilling our promise to set up a new festival for the community. Thanks to the accumulated know-how from the years 2016 to 2021 and a loyal following behind the conditions for a successful premiere could hardly be better,” explains Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.

Two top-class partners have already been won for the CAGGTUS Leipzig premiere. Red Bull will be an exclusive partner for energy drinks and will also integrate with new entertaining formats on CAGGTUS Leipzig. The long-standing cooperation with Schenker Technologies/XMG, the Leipzig manufacturer of high-end gaming hardware, continues.

The world of gaming in all its facets

In the entertainment area, visitors will have the opportunity to spend an unforgettable weekend at CAGGTUS Leipzig. In free play areas, you will find fully equipped gaming places where you can test games or participate in fun matches and tournaments. On a large stage, the audience can expect a number of highlights – from the legendary cosplay contest to exciting show matches and interesting talk rounds and panels. The latest hardware, trendy games and much more can be seen by gaming enthusiasts at the exhibitors’ booths at the Expo.

In the FPV Arena, visitors virtually climb into the cockpits of race drones and cars with the help of VR glasses and experience spectacular flight and driving maneuvers as if they were sitting in the cockpit themselves. Impressive hardware works of art are the focus of the German Casemod Championship (DCMM), in which incomparable unique pieces are created from commercially available or self-constructed PC cases.

Big LAN party is about to make a comeback

What would a gaming festival in Leipzig be without a big LAN party? For three years, clans and lone fighters had to do without their firmly planned pilgrimage to the trade fair city, but next April the waiting time will finally come to an end. We are really looking forward to the sea of luminous cacti and monitors, energetic mouse and keyboard clicks and of course frenetic Helga calls from long-time companions and new faces, says Constantin Strobel, project director of CAGGTUS Leipzig.

The LAN Area of CAGGTUS Leipzig will offer players enough space and the usual high quality in terms of IT infrastructure in their own hall. Attractive prizes await in numerous tournaments and last but not least fame and honor. Numerous special promotions such as hardware rental, lounge including bar and analog contests ensure homely comfort in the festival hustle and bustle. In addition, a long-cherished wish of the community comes true: Arrival is already possible the day before, so that participants have enough time to set up their hardware and set up their place.

Experience the world of streaming live

The stream area is located in its own area within the entertainment area. With partners from the industry, own formats are developed here, in which well-known streamers broadcast live from CAGGTUS Leipzig. However, a “How to Stream” area is also intended to bring newcomers closer to the topic of streaming including the technical and content challenges. You will also have the opportunity to meet your own idols.
