- Italian Showdown will be back for the second year running
Rimini, 2-5 June 2022 – The week leading up to RiminiWellness 2022, the big event that celebrates the universe of fitness and wellness in motion for an energetic and vital public, has begun. At Rimini Expo Centre, from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June, the 16th edition of the Italian Exhibition Group event will be back with its iconic range of innovative workouts and disciplines, evolutions in traditional forms of training and new proposals for functional and combined training.
Internationally renowned trainers and presenters will be available in the ÔActive´ area for four days of lessons, stage set-ups and courses with different levels of difficulty, to involve athletes and enthusiasts of all age groups with their energy.
FITNESS AND DANCE WORKOUTS
Taking advantage of a passion for dancing to regain full fitness is possible thanks to Dance workout, a total body training programme that alternates cardio dance sessions with exercises focused on specific areas of the body, such as ABS and legs. Designed for those in need of constant stimulation, participants can move, have fun and achieve their wellness goals to the rhythm of music.
Another new entry is Ballet Fit, a choreographic workout devised by ballet dancer Gloria Morales that combines classical dance exercises, such as warming up at the barre, with fitness through cardio exercises and stretching on the floor, allowing participants to tone up, improve muscle elasticity, increase endurance and correct their posture. GPASSÉ, a format devised by Giulia Pagliaccia and Gil Lopes that uses the basics of the ´barre´ dance technique in a dynamic and fluid version for a complete workout with cardiovascular benefits, will also be demonstrated at the show.
TRAIN LIKE A REAL SOLDIER
The Italian Army will be back at RiminiWellness 2022 with its Military Fitness courses and web radio. With typically military procedures, instructors from the ´Folgore´ paratroopers´ Brigade will guide participants as they perform gymnastic exercises typical of tactical operational training, while rock-climbing instructors from the Alpine Troops will assist the public, in total safety, on the climbing wall specifically set up for the occasion.
EVOLUTIONS IN THE MOST POPULAR WORKOUTS
Also returning to RiminiWellness are Jill Cooper – to present Fluid, her new free-body workout -, The Pole Arena, an authentic interactive pole dance studio for those who want to approach this world, and Zumba, both in its classic version and the Strong Nation™ variant, which falls into the HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) cardio category and is based on a reversed method compared to workouts in this category: the movements are decided before the music, not as a consequence of it.
FUNCTIONAL, COMBAT TRAINING AND THE GREAT CLASSICS
This area includes functional training and other training methods that integrate combat techniques and functional training strategies with music-based fitness groups.
The Revoring Academy will be offering 14 masterclasses open to all age groups to promote the use of Revoring, an elastic chain consisting of fourteen rings that offers a versatile and revolutionary approach to the world of total body functional training by combining the benefits of suspension training with those of elastic resistance. Lovers of high-intensity outdoor training will, instead, be able to experience the Obstacle Course Run, a type of race that originated in the USA in the late 1980s and draws inspiration from US military corps training. It consists of running on 3 to 15 km long obstacle courses on dirt tracks or ground of variable elevation.
The new entries at the show will be joined by traditional RiminiWellness features, such as Cross Cardio, Indoor cycling and Calisthenics.
SEVENTH EDITION OF ITALIAN SHOWDOWN
Crosfitters unite: Italian Showdown, the largest annual sports competition recognised and accredited by the CrossFit® brand, will be held in parallel with RiminiWellness for the second year running following its co-presence at the Active Edition in 2021. Enrolment is open to everyone, from beginners to intermediate and experienced athletes. Everyone will have the chance to test their skills on the same playing field and alongside elite athletes from all over the world.
