CosmeticBusiness is back in the usual trade fair cycle after the pandemic-related break and an autumn edition in 2021. 326 exhibitors and represented companies from 26 countries presented their innovative products and offers for the development, production and marketing of cosmetic products in three exhibition halls at the MOC in Munich.

In the four exhibition areas ingredients, production, packaging and service, exhibitors presented their latest products and solutions for the cosmetics industry on an exhibition area of 11,000 square meters. Compared to the event in autumn, CosmeticBusiness was even more international. Exhibitors arrived from 26 countries such as France, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands and Switzerland. This is a total of seven countries more than in 2021. For example, exhibitors from Portugal, Sweden, Slovakia or South Korea were new in 2022.

Exhibitors draw a positive balance and praise the quality of visitors

The exhibitors draw a consistently positive conclusion. According to a survey by the independent market research company Gelszus Messe-Marktforschung, 89 percent of exhibitors rate their participation in the trade fair as a success and 93 percent plan to be present as exhibitors at CosmeticBusiness again next year. 94 percent of respondents expect a good post-fair business.

Especially the professional qualification of the visitors is praised by 98 percent, as well as the quality of the contacts – 97 percent awarded top marks for this. “Our expectations of the fair have been fully met. We have consistently had very pleasant and good conversations at the stand,” says Frank Hahlbohm, Managing Director at Kurt Kitzing GmbH. He also adds: “The professional and warm support from the team rounded off the event perfectly, we will be happy to come back.”

Jan Rudel, Head of Contract Manufacturing at dreiturm GmbH, also states positively: “The mixture does it: The exhibitor mix of raw materials, production and packaging materials makes the fair particularly attractive. The entire spectrum of the industry is covered. CosmeticBusiness offers the opportunity to meet existing customers and opens doors to meet new customers in a familiar atmosphere.”

Visitors appreciate the exchange and intensify their business relationships

The visitors were very satisfied with the participation in CosmeticBusiness, for 84 percent the visit to the fair was worthwhile. The vast majority (77 percent) have achieved their goals and drove home satisfied. Almost all of them (95 percent) plan to visit CosmeticBusiness again next year. Just as many would recommend the established trade fair to colleagues.

Informing yourself about innovations and trends, the exchange with business partners as well as the establishment and maintenance of business contacts were at the top of the agenda of trade fair visitors. A quarter of this year’s visitors came from abroad – especially from Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy and Spain. A total of trade visitors from 33 countries were represented at the fair.

Mathis Korn, Senior Marketing Manager at Dermatest GmbH, also confirms the intensive exchange at the industry meeting point: “We had many exciting discussions at the stand – from potential new customers to existing customers, it was a really good mix. The sometimes very granular questions show that CosmeticBusiness is a very subject-specific event for which we were perfectly prepared with our numerous scientists on site. We will be happy to come back next year, then with a larger stand.”

Focus on industry trends and innovations

The motto of the event “Turn Trends into Business” shaped both the special show and the specialist program – they focused on industry trends and innovations of the exhibitors. Sustainable product concepts, recyclable packaging and cost-cutting potential dominated the range of topics. For the first time, there was a start-up area in the Innovation Corner at CosmeticBusiness. The “Meet the Start-up” format also gave young companies in the cosmetics supplier industry the opportunity to present themselves to a broad professional audience and establish business contacts with cosmetics manufacturers.

The upcoming CosmeticBusiness will take place from the 14th to the 15th. June 2023 at the MOC Munich.
