“From cycling to mobility”: This year’s motto of Eurobike underlines the role of the bicycle in the traffic turnaround. With its move to the metropolis and the Eurobike Convention on the first day of the fair, the leading trade fair positions itself more politically and offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchange with players from politics, administration, science and civil society. In doing so, she also welcomes political heavyweights: “More bicycle means more progress,” says Dr. Volker Wissing, Federal Minister of Digital Affairs and Transport, and Eurobike patron certainly. The Hessian Minister of Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing Tarek Al-Wazir adds: “Our goal is to make cycling easier. For this to happen, we need real changes in the mobility sector and common ideas that accelerate this development.”

Mobility & urban planning

A luminary in the field of transport and urban change is the mobility expert, consultant and author Janette Sadik-Khan. During her six years as transport mayor of the metropolis of New York, she was responsible for the construction of over 600 km of cycle paths, seven express bus lines and the introduction of a sharing system with twelve thousand rental bikes. In her keynote at the Eurobike Convention, Janette Sadik-Khan explains how cross-share cooperation and the redistribution of areas enables human-oriented spatial and urban planning – and what role cycling plays in this. In addition to the New Yorker, there are other prominent guests such as Federal Minister Dr. Volker Wissing and communication expert Katja Diehl for key notes on stage as part of the Eurobike Convention.

Action on two wheels

Smooth riding style and adrenaline in the blood: The slopestyle world elite honors itself at this year’s Eurobike and rides great at the Eurobike Skyline Ride. Led by Emil Johansson, high-flyer from Sweden and reigning FMB World Champion and the German Erik Fedko, the current number 3 in the FMB world rankings, the professionals Sam Pilgrim, Tomas Lemoine, Thomas Genon, Alejandro Bonafe and other top athletes deliver spectacular shows when they conquer the jumped dirt course on their bikes.

Danny MacAskill and his international crew are also in the spotlight: On the legendary drop-and-roll tour, the likeable bikers show their technical sophistication and inspire their audience with daring stunts and tricks about ramps, barriers and the infamous gymnastics ball.

Bicycle legends and exceptional athletes

The announced celebrities also include living legends such as Gary Fisher. As one of the inventors of mountain biking, the former professional athlete and pioneer is an icon of the bike scene and has been a guest at Eurobike for many years. Also this year, the industry insider will be at the fair in Frankfurt as part of the Gravel Talk on Thursday, 14. July and Saturday, 16. July and give autographs.

Even a single triathlon is an impressive sporting challenge that combines the endurance disciplines of swimming, cycling and running. The German extreme athlete Jonas Deichmann added a lot in 2021 and achieved what no one before him has ever achieved: The Stuttgart native was the first person to circumnavigate the entire globe in 430 days swimming, cycling and continuously – through various climate zones and a pandemic. On the Eurobike you can experience the brand ambassador of the touring and navigation platform komoot live in the lecture program.
