gamescom continues to develop as a brand and shines across the board in a new design

The countdown is on: In less than three months, the world’s largest games event, gamescom 2022 (23rd to 28th August), finally again on site in Cologne and online worldwide. From today, the ticket shop is open, through which specialist and private visitors can purchase their gamescom ticket exclusively. An on-site sale of tickets is not planned.


New this year are the “green ticket” (voluntary climate protection contribution that benefits gamescom forest) and the “superfan ticket” (advantages of the Fastlane system on the site as well as numerous digital advantages). Back on offer are the family and evening tickets.


The organizers expect a large crowd at gamescom 2022, at the same time the ticket quotas to increase the quality of stay and with regard to the safety and health of visitors are more limited. Accordingly, a timely ticket purchase is also recommended this year so as not to miss gamescom.


All gamescom tickets can only be purchased in the official online ticket shop at www.gamescom.de. The following applies to all gamescom tickets: Each buyer must register in the ticket shop and can only buy one ticket.


### Gamescom in a new guise ###

Games have long been the pacesetter for culture, technology and the entire entertainment market. At the same time, gaming connects and unites numerous fandom communities. As a beacon of the games industry and community, gamescom is constantly following these developments – it was and is “The Heart of Gaming.” In the meantime, however, it is also the heart and port for many of the communities interwoven with gaming.


gamescom takes this development into account with a revised brand strategy that picks up all communities both online and offline. Already at gamescom 2022, this further development will now become even more visible. Together with the leading agencies Jung von Matt BRAND IDENTITY, Jung von Matt NERD and TLGG in their field, the gamescom organizers game – Association of the German Games Industry and Koelnmesse have redesigned and fundamentally revised gamescom’s brand identity. Fans can’t get around it from today, because all channels and every communication shine in a new look.

Day tickets for private visitors

In general, day tickets for private visitors are only available in the gamescom online ticket shop while stocks last. So if you definitely want to be part of the Gaming and Community Festival of the Year, play the latest games for the first time and experience further highlights of gamescom live on site, a timely ticket purchase is recommended. Because for many years in a row it was said “sold out in advance” for the gamescom day tickets.


NEW: Let the gamescom forest continue to grow with “green ticket”

With gamescom goes green, the gamescom organizers presented their ambitious sustainability program at the beginning of the year, through which organizers, exhibitors and visitors will make the 2022 event the most climate-friendly gamescom in history. Visitors can buy the “green ticket” directly in the ticket shop in 2022 and thus support the further afforestation of gamescom forest with one euro. Individual, voluntary climate protection contributions to support gamescom forest can also be made at any time outside the ticket shop via betterplace.org.


NEW: “superfan ticket” offers more bookable slots and digital benefits

With the purchase of a ticket, visitors automatically receive up to two pre-bookable play slots or visit slots at other attractions, which they can book at will on a “first come, first served” basis with the participating exhibitors and organizers. This saves them a long wait. With the purchase of the new “superfan ticket” the number of bookable slots increases to up to three. At the same time, “superfan ticket” owners have additional opportunities for profile customization on gamescom now and enjoy various advantages at the digital community event gamescom EPIX. The superfan ticket does not entitle you to admission to the exhibition center and can only be purchased in conjunction with a private or trade visitor ticket. The offer of play or attraction slots is subject to availability by the exhibitors and organizers and cannot be guaranteed.


Back again: Family and evening ticket

Good news for all gaming-loving families: The family ticket is back – valid for a maximum of five people, including a maximum of two adults and at least one child aged seven to eleven years. The quota of family tickets is also limited, they are only available while stocks last.


As in 2019, there will be a discounted evening ticket for the public days. Owners of an evening tick have access to the entertainment area from 16:00. Experience has shown that many owners of day tickets leave the site around noon or end the gamescom day in one of the event areas. This increases the chance of faster access to the latest attractions at the exhibitors’ stands in the early evening. This benefits both game fans still in the entertainment area and holders of an evening ticket. The evening ticket thus contributes to the quality of stay.


Three days of pure business: trade visitor tickets

Trade visitor tickets are also available in the online ticket shop from today. Analogous to the duration of the business area (24.-26. August), both individual day tickets and 3-day tickets are offered for the three days. All these ticket variants allow access to the business area and entertainment area. The purchase of a trade visitor ticket is also only possible for personal use and regulated to one person for security reasons. In addition to the trade visitor ticket, the purchase of a green ticket is also recommended in order to participate in the gamescom goes green project as a trade visitor.
