【DE】Final report: Anniversary celebration of the JAGD & HUND a complete success

Unique indoor and outdoor summer event brought industry, hunters, families and nature lovers together live

The JAGD & HUND summer edition and anniversary edition from 07. to 12 provided a foretaste of the JAGD & HUND in January 2023. June 2022 in the exhibition halls and on a huge outdoor area of Messe Dortmund. After more than two years, all hunting enthusiasts and nature lovers were finally able to exchange ideas about the latest trends, products and industry insights throughout the entire duration of the JAGD & HUND trade fair. Even “hunting inexperienced” visitors got their money’s worth. The offer of the parallel WILD FOOD FESTIVAL scored with a wide range of culinary delicacies from the local forest, ingredients, accessories and cooking tips from star chefs and thus showed the varied preparation of venison specialties. The conclusion of the two formats: Exhibitors, partners and visitors were satisfied and are already looking forward to the January date of the JAGD & HUND from 24 to 29 January 2023.

Around 400 exhibitors from 31 countries showed the whole variety of hunting at a glance in and around the halls of Messe Dortmund. Championships, informative lectures and talk rounds, action-packed shows, exciting demonstrations with dogs and birds of prey and nature-loving attractions for young and old transformed the exhibition center – inside and out – into a unique nature and adventure event for six days.

Providers, trade fair visitors, partners and industry colleagues were equally pleased about the intensive personal exchange on the latest products and industry-specific developments. Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Messe Dortmund, draws a positive balance: “Finally maintain contacts again, talk shop, experience and try out product offers live and get a market overview – exhibitors, partners, visitors as well as hunting and nature lovers visibly enjoyed this at JAGD & HUND. Last but not least, the extensive stage program, the large attractive outdoor area and the relaxed trade fair atmosphere were very well received. This shows that trade fairs are functioning again and continue to be an important tool for the market. All the greater the anticipation of the next JAGD & HUND, which will take place from the 24th to the 29th. January 2023 at Messe Dortmund.”

Good mood among exhibitors and partners

The encouragement to the JAGD & HUND summer edition was impressive. The conversations were of high quality and the visitors obviously enjoy being able to touch, try out and compare the goods live again,” says Klaus Felgenhauer, Head of Trainigsakademie Carl Zeiss AG. And Veronika Bögelein, Social Media Manager Frankonia Handels GmbH & Co.KG adds: “We really noticed how much we have missed contact with other exhibitors in recent years. We have been missing that for the last two years. The important meeting moments can only be reached live. JAGD & HUND is therefore an important and good trade fair for us overall,” says Karen Emmerling, Project Manager Tradeshows & Advertising RUAG Ammotech GmbH. “This year, for the first time, we are showing the public a world first at JAGD & HUND and have also firmly planned to do so regularly in the future. Because we can’t get our customers to grip better than here,” says Felgenhauer, Carl Zeiss AG.

Numerous exhibitors praised the advantages of JAGD & HUND: “As the largest hunting fair in Europe, JAGD & HUND is a beautiful forum for our topics and offers the opportunity to explain and bring all innovations of the entire group of companies closer to our customers. Here we have a wide audience on site in a short time and can have very good and intensive discussions. We also receive excellent feedback from our customers for this,” says Dr. Jens Uwe Drowatzky, CEO Blaser Group. Daniel Baumann, Head of Trade Fair Department Paul Parey Zeitschriftenverlag GmbH, agrees with this: “JAGD & HUND is still Europe’s largest hunting fair and a point landing for us thematically. Here is exactly our clientele and the personal conversations are incredibly important. We were there from the first JAGD & HUND – the 40th So we are celebrating our anniversary and also plan to remain loyal to the fair beyond 2023. You just can’t get past the HUNT & DOG.” “The Dortmund trade fair location is very important to us. We have a retail store nearby and the fair really attracts many customers across the region,” says Angelika Engelmann, Head of Operations Business Jagdwelt24 GmbH. Friedhelm Röttgen, Vice President Hunting Used Dog Association, emphasizes the importance of the fair for the association: “The JAGD & HUND is an important platform for the Jagdgebrauchshundverband for exchange with each other.
