【DE】From daycare seminars, educational institutions and feel-good managers: The event program of didacta 2022

Where do we stand in the digitization of our education system? Are our educational institutions now better prepared for a new pandemic? How do we deal with the ever-increasing shortage of skilled workers in many industries? How do we sufficiently qualify employees for the future? What should the school of the future look like and what will it have to do? These and many other questions will be addressed by didacta 2022 from the 7th to the 11th. June in Cologne.

At numerous forums, congresses and round tables on the event stages in the halls and in the congress centers, didacta 2022 offers ample opportunity for personal exchange, discussion and content discussions. The offers of the education fair are divided into three major subject areas: early education, schools and vocational training/myQ qualification. The kick-off event in early education is Science Day on the 7th. June from 12:00-13:30 in the Konrad-Adenauer-Saal. Under the title “Perspectives for places for children” Prof. Dr. Wassilios E. Fthenakis from the Didacta Association e. V. and guests from politics, science and practice on the question of how educational places for children can cope with the current, great challenges they face acutely.

The daycare center as a place of proximity, exchange and care

The central place for discussion, workshops and seminars in the field of early education are in particular the daycare seminars in the Congress Center North. They are the central training and further education series for early education educators. From Wednesday to Friday, representatives from science and practice devote themselves to the pressing questions of early education and convey valuable suggestions for everyday life in daycare centers. Each day is under a special heading. The first day of the seminar is about interaction and the daycare center as a place of proximity, relationship and trial and trying out. The second day focuses on communication and illuminates the daycare center as a place of exchange and understanding. The conclusion is the topic of prevention and considers the importance of the daycare center as a place of protection and care. But that’s not all: The mini-specialist day of the fmks “Multilingualism does good” on the 10th is about the early promotion of multilingualism. June at the Congress Center East. Insights into Montessori practice, e.g. B. through video sequences and performances, the special show “Montessori: Orientation at the Child” in Hall 7.

The topic of school is also an inexhaustible source of discussion. Because rarely has the blatant need for change in schools become as obvious as in the pandemic. Whether equipment, digitization, administration or the development of didactic concepts that are based on changed competencies. What should the school of the future look like and what will it do? At the Forum School Practice in Hall 6, these and many other topics will be discussed at didacta, but also field-tested solutions will be presented.

Of educational institutions, mixed reality in the classroom and communication in chaos

For example, on the 7th June the district administrator of the Rhein-Erft district, Frank Rock, together with politicians, experts and those affected. In his district, he is planning an “educational house” in which school authorities, teachers and economic actors come together to tackle challenges such as technical equipment in schools or the further education of teachers. But is this the solution to the question of what a school with and as a system currently needs? On the following days, mixed reality as a living tool for religious instruction or the questions of how to experience foreign policy with board games or how good communication also works in chaos are topics on the Forum Schulpraxis.

Socio- and educational policy issues are the focus of the Forum

Bildungsperspektiven during didacta. The start is a discussion entitled “Cooperation or confrontation? How the economy and the state are driving the development of school platforms.” In the round, Bundestag member Thomas Jarzombek from the CDU, Martin Hüppe from IServ GmbH and Silke Müller from Waldschule Hatten, among others, discuss the question of how educational processes can be strengthened with the help of digital learning platforms and how private and public providers can best meet the special requirements of school practice.

How to deal with violence at school or even better, prevent it is the topic of Christoph Rickels’ keynote on the 10th. June. His credo is: In order to achieve sustainable change, the listener must not only be informed, but rather his interest must be aroused. Because only interested listeners – according to his thesis – allow a process of change to begin. And this change of consciousness is a prerequisite for sustainable change. This is exactly how Christoph Rickels approaches his lectures: emotional, gripping and authentic.

How do I recognize fake news?

There has been a lot of talk about fake news in the past words. A more accurate name for this phenomenon is certainly: targeted disinformation. Rumors and unverified pictures and videos are currently circulating on social media. To educate students about how to recognize fakes, check images or videos for authenticity and how public editorial offices work – this is what the experts from “so geht MEDIEN!”, the joint media literacy initiative of ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio, talk about. At the Forum Bildungsperspektiven in Hall 7, the professionals will give on the 11th. June concrete tips on how teachers can sensitize both primary school students and young people to fake news and teach them further media skills.

Special shows on the subject of school

These are just some of the topics that will be discussed on the forums of didacta 2022 on the subject of school. The offer is supplemented by numerous special shows, by the German Association for the Promotion of Mathematical and Science Teaching e. V., the churches in Germany, the Federal Association of Teachers of Vocational Education and Training or RWTH Aachen University.

The topic of vocational training / myQ qualification is also not neglected at didacta 2022. At the Forum Vocational Education and Training or the Forum MyQ-Weiterbildung as well as the Vocational Education Action Area, visitors will find a lot of information about the dual training system, full-time school training courses as well as all forms of vocational preparation and continuing vocational training up to technical higher education.

For example, on the 8th. June at the Forum Vocational Education and Training on the subject of nursing. In a discussion round, in which visitors to didacta can expressly participate, for example, the question is whether care is still a professional field with a future. Because let’s not fool ourselves: Why should young people choose a nursing profession today? Because the stress is so beautiful? Or the staff shortages? The good feeling of working in a systemically important profession and earning too little? Or is it the usefulness of the activity? This discussion is about this, but especially about the questions of what shortcomings there are in training, what needs to change and to what extent the nursing emergency has been exacerbated by Corona.

Since this topic is extremely relevant, the discussion round takes place in the Konrad-Adenauer-Saal (Congress-Centrum Nord) and is also streamed live by the didacta aktuell studio there at the same time. But a lively discussion with those affected is also expressly desired on site.

The other days of the fair will also focus – among other topics – on feel-good managers in companies, Generation Z as a challenge for companies, digital ethics or the question of the digital key competencies for teachers at the Berufskolleg.

Trainers, trainers and personnel developers will be able to receive a variety of suggestions at the Forum MyQ-Weiterbildung, get to know practical examples, business and industry better, network with each other and discuss current developments. The offer in vocational education and training is rounded off by the special action area Vocational Training in Hall 7.

These are just a few offers that didacta 2022 offers for educators, teachers as well as trainers and trainers. A daily updated overview can be found on the event pages of the fair.
