It was clearly felt that the international pet industry knew how to use the long-awaited industry platform Interzoo to be able to show its professional audience innovations and find new sales partnerships. The positive mood as well as the still overwhelmingly high internationality of visitors confirm the status of Interzoo as the world’s leading trade fair,” sums up Norbert Holthenrich, President of the ideal carrier of Interzoo, the Zentralverband Zoologischer Fachbetriebe e.V. (ZZF).

We consider the fact that, despite the continuing uncertainty, so many industry participants had firmly planned the appointment of Interzoo as a high proof of confidence in Interzoo and its organizer WZF, says Bonnet.

A particularly large number of young companies presented themselves at this year’s Interzoo: More than 50 startups attracted attention at the sponsored joint stand and the international startup area in Hall 11. The “Fresh Ideas Stage” offered for the first time at Interzoo 2022 gave the additional boost to the market: “On stage, around 20 entrepreneurs showed their ideas to a wide audience or drew attention to their innovations as part of the Fresh Ideas Contest in order to attract sales partners or first customers. The experts reacted with great curiosity and interest to the innovations shown,” says Dr. Rowena doctor, Head of Measure at the WZF.

In addition, visitors used the lecture program in large numbers to inform themselves about market opportunities and trends: On the 23rd May, one day before the start of the fair, 250 professionals from 30 countries visited the Petfood Forum Europe organized by WATT Global Media in cooperation with Interzoo. On the following days, more than 120 industry participants took part in the Interzoo Sustainability Session and more than 60 people got marketing tips in the Petfluencer Session. The five country sessions also attracted many dealers and manufacturers who informed themselves about international markets and new opportunities.

The right mix of real and digital

“After the pandemic-related time without physical trade fairs, the focus at Interzoo 2022 was primarily on the personal encounter of industry participants. This applies to the discussions at the booth, discussions in the specialist forums or networking as part of the Interzoo party in the park, explains Dr. Doctor and adds: “With the new Interzoo app and the digital offer of the Interzoo Academy, we have supported personal trade fair participation in the best possible way and created organizational freedom for the direct experience of the fair. A large part of the lectures are available online in the Interzoo app or at the Interzoo Academy. And the established contacts can now also be easily processed digitally afterwards.”

The next Interzoo in Nuremberg will open its doors from Tuesday, 7. May to Friday, 10. May 2024.
