The sixth edition of the Galiforest Abanca forestry fair, which will be held from June 30 to July 2 in the mountains and facilities of the Agroforestry Training and Experimentation Center of Sergude (Boqueixón), will include a program of technical conferences of great interest to the sector.
Among them, the challenges and opportunities of Pino de Galicia in the current market context will be analyzed. It will be in a conference organized by the Arume Foundation that will take place on the second day of the fair.
The Pino de Galicia guarantee brand and its current presence in the market will be addressed by David Lorenzo, professor at the School of Forestry Engineering of Pontevedra and secretary of the committee of the Pino de Galicia brand, while the new uses of wood for sustainable and industrialized construction will be exposed by Manuel Guaita, professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela and director of the Structural Wood Engineering Platform (Pemade). The evolution of conifer prices and future prospects will also be discussed, with Laura Lozano, commercial director of Maderas Goiriz, in charge of it.
The day will end with a round table on the challenges and opportunities of conifers in the current context of uncertainty. Its moderator will be Ana Busto, deputy to the management of Serrerías Rodríguez.
Improved forestry plant
Also focused on pine and organized again by the Arume Foundation, another day will be held on the first day of the fair. Under the title “Improved forestry plant” it will be addressed by Isabel Álvarez, head of forest production at Viveros Braña; Enrique Fandiño, manager of Hifas Foresta; Margarita Fraga, technical director of Cultigar-Fundación Paideia Galicia; Francisco José Lario, head of MFR projects of TRAGSA, and José Martel,
The moderate will be Enrique Martínez, director of the Forestry Research Center of Lourizán, Galician Agency for Food Quality (Agacal).
