REHAB Karlsruhe will open its doors in three weeks: After a three-year break, Messe Karlsruhe will host the 21st European trade fair for rehabilitation, therapy, care and inclusion from 23rd to 25th June on their barrier-free grounds. Since many events at which products are launched live and in front of a large audience have been cancelled due to the pandemic in recent years, product, live and trade fair premieres as well as many further developments are expected at REHAB: including industry giants such as Permobil, Meyra, Paravan, Made for Movement and Humanelektronik.

“A face-to-face trade fair like REHAB is a strong sales platform and a showcase for innovations in the aid industry: The focus here is on real experience, testing and personal, individual advice. We are looking forward to many enriching encounters, innovative tools, numerous live and trade fair premieres of the exhibitors and to the unique community!” says Annika Gehrmeyer, project manager of REHAB Karlsruhe.

Around 350 exhibitors from 18 countries present their new rehabilitation, orthopedic and medical technology products as well as innovations for care and therapy on around 35,000 square meters. A good 40 percent of exhibitors are manufacturing companies, followed by dealers, service providers, institutions and associations. For a quick overview, the trade fair topics are divided into eleven “marketplaces”. The majority of the exhibition space is taken up by exhibitors for mobility and everyday aids, such as the latest scooters, wheelchairs, walking aids and walkers. Interested parties can exchange ideas directly with experts on the functions and advantages of the aids at REHAB and try out the driving devices on the 3,000 square meter test course or on the car test track. Tickets and further information are available online at www.rehab-karlsruhe.com.

“We are all very pleased to finally be able to conduct the personal exchange with specialist dealers and users again after a long trade fair break. For this, the REHAB trade fair, one of the most important trade fairs of the year for Meyra, has always offered the optimal platform for this,” says Stefan Schäfer, Meyra Managing Director Sales & Marketing DACH. After the corona-related trade fair break, Meyra Netti AdaptPro and Netti Dynamic AdaptPro, a manual and an electric care wheelchair for complex supplies, as well as the electric, easy-fold travel wheelchair iTRAVEL 9″ with larger 9 inch drive wheels will present for the first time at a trade fair.

Paravan presents the entire product range from the way into the vehicle, wheelchair solutions as self-drive or ride-sharing solutions, seating solutions and various operating devices. New technologies such as electromobility play an important role, highlights will be “resilient self- and ride-sharing solutions” for wheelchair users. “Especially the new Caddy V self-propelled solution is such a product premiere, just like the presentation of the new all-rounder wheelchair PR 30/II,” notes Alexander Nerz, Head of Marketing at Paravan. “ReHAB is an important leading trade fair for us and a pleasant mandatory date at the same time. We are pleased that you can finally take place again after a longer forced break in 2022. The event is an excellent networking platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences within the industry and at the same time an important showcase,” Nerz continues.

The manufacturer Made for Movement will present the new walking trainer Xplore as a novelty at REHAB. “With the Xplore, we are closing a market gap for children and adults who can only bear their own weight with difficulty or not at all and have low hull stability,” explains Jens Kleine, Sales Manager at Made for Movement.

During the corona period, the developers at Permobil worked on some new products that will be presented live at REHAB: such as the Explorer Mini, an electrically driven mobility solution that can promote psychomotor child development through self-determined movements and activities for toddlers with mobility impairments at the early age of one year to three years. Furthermore, the lightweight additional drive for SmartDrive wheelchairs will first be shown live at a trade fair. Another trade fair highlight at Permobil is the presentation of Progeo as a new member of the Permobil family, a leading Italian manufacturer of lightweight active manual wheelchairs, optionally made of carbon or aluminum.

The company Handi-Move shows its new generation active lifter with a natural stand-up movement, with which it should make getting off and put on more pleasant and easier for everyone involved. The new, patented movement sequence leads the stand-up and set-down process much more ergonomically.

For the development of the first intelligent wheelchair loading system with remote services, the Felitec innovators were awarded in 2021 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg and Europe’s largest industry association VDMA. The company presents Brownie Plus at REHAB.

Elchtec by Volaris Germany also uses REHAB Karlsruhe as a distribution platform for novelties, whereby this year the company focuses on the high-quality electric wheelchairs of the Balder brand, “which will be offered exclusively in Germany with selected specialist dealers,” announces Managing Director Michael Schmitz. “The Rehab fair has been an important building block for us for years to be able to show the innovations that we make available to users with our Scandinavian and European manufacturers!” Schmitz continues.

The world market leader for hearing implants Cochlear Germany presents its pioneering portfolio of implantable hearing solutions at REHAB Karlsruhe. Including the CochlearTM Osia® System, a novel solution for people with conduction hearing loss, combined hearing loss or one-sided sensorineural deafness (SSD). “One focus of our trade fair appearance is on the Cochlear Osia system, which was only introduced to the German market a few months ago,” says Frank Wagner, Regional Director of Cochlear Germany.
