Hach Lange with its EZ7900 online wastewater toxicity analyzer and self-cleaning system wins the Innovation Distinction 2022 award at aqua pro. This project was chosen from the ten files submitted, meeting very selective criteria. The Jury’s Favorite, composed of professionals in the field and chaired by Mr. Philippe Perritaz, also at the head of the aqua pro show, returns to the Pumpilo SDFlow tandem solar pumps of Swiss Intech SA. The award ceremony will take place at the official inauguration of the aqua pro show, this Wednesday, June 8 at 5:00 p.m.
Real-time monitoring of the toxicity of wastewater arriving at the WWTP is offered by the system of the company Hach Lange, which has a head office in Geneva. The EZ7900 Toxicity Analyzer is capable of detecting wastewater inlets that exhibit acute or chronic toxicity to biomass from a biological wastewater treatment plant. This allows operators to take corrective action to protect the viability of the activated sludge. “WWTP is the last bulwark before the environment, underlines Hach Lange, in his argument. Controlling the biological purification stage and the wastewater as closely as possible makes it possible to increase the safety of the WWTPs and to optimize their costs.” This innovative equipment convinced the jury of professionals for the Distinction Innovation 2022 at the aqua pro show, which made it its winner.
The Jury’s Coup de Coeur was also awarded to the company Swiss Intech SA, based in Enney/FR. Under the Pumpilo SDFlow brand, it offers solar-powered and sustainable pumps that make water accessible in areas where it was difficult to reach. Powered by a photovoltaic panel, operating even in low sunlight, the pumps can reach groundwater up to a maximum depth of 90 meters. A pre-series of 30 pumps were sold in countries such as Senegal and Congo, but also in Switzerland and France. These installations are particularly suitable for mountain pastures.
Ten applications had been submitted to claim the 2022 Innovation Distinction. All met strict participation criteria: true innovation in the technical, industrial and commercial sense; real added value for users or operators; marketed on the Swiss market at least one month before the opening of the show. The other candidate companies were: Aquametro SA, Aquatechnique SA, Cla-Val Europe Sàrl, OTechnologies, ROMAG Aquacare SA, Swan Analytische Instrumente SA, vonRoll hydro SA and Watson-Marlow SA.
Four seminars, organized by umbrella associations, will also bring together experts, professionals and decision-makers to discuss and debate current and cutting-edge solutions. Climate impact, drinking water, laughing gas and wastewater treatment plants will be at the heart of the discussions (click to see the program).
Ambassador of this 11th aqua pro show, Yvan Bourgnon will present his Manta project during the inauguration. With this innovative catamaran, the sailor proposes to collect, sort and store at sea a large quantity of floating plastics, before they degrade and are absorbed by marine life. He will detail this project during a conference open to the public on Wednesday June 8, at 7:30 p.m. > Ticket office.
Every two years, the aqua pro show is the reference B2B meeting platform in Switzerland on subjects dedicated to the sectors of the global water cycle.
