【DE】Bigger than ever: Best mood at the summer edition of the HAMBURG OPEN

After more than two years of corona-related break, the HAMBURG OPEN, the networking event for the technical and creative professionals of the broadcast and media technology industry, took place this time as a summer edition on 01. and 02. June 2022 at the exhibition center. Numerous lectures and panel discussions on two stages, finally time for unrestricted exchange and a variety of offers greater than ever before ensured the best atmosphere for all participants in the industry event.

With more than 170 exhibiting companies on 50 percent more exhibition space, the HAMBURG OPEN inspired around 1,500 visitors. The creators of the industry event, the Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) and their cooperation partner Studio Hamburg MCI, have thus succeeded in organizing the largest event in the history of the HAMBURG OPEN to date.

Especially after the long forced break, the great participation is balm for the soul. The enormous encouragement and the trust shown confirm us in our work and in how important the HAMBURG OPEN and its special format is for the industry,” says Bernd Aufderheide, Chairman of the Management Board of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. And Max Below, Managing Director at Studio Hamburg MCI, adds: “The HAMBURG OPEN is indispensable with its unique mix of expo, extensive supporting program and above all its networking character as a meeting place for the broadcast and media technology industry. Especially at this year’s event, it became all the clearer how important personal exchange is.”

The satisfaction of the exhibiting companies is also reflected in the registrations for the HAMBURG OPEN 2023. A large part of the exhibition space for the follow-up event has already been allocated again. “The HAMBURG OPEN is a very high-quality trade fair for us – the visitors who are here have a very high quality. You can have long and intense conversations here and you notice that people are very interested in looking at something, learning a lot of new. This is what is very interesting for us at the HAMBURG OPEN,” says Thomas Strohhäker, Pro Audio Event Manager at Shure Europe GmbH.

Exciting lectures and insights into the world of work

From exhibitor presentations to application-oriented lectures to intensive discussion rounds – the extensive supporting program, distributed this year on two large stages, met with strong visitor interest and gave valuable insights and outlooks into the relevant topics of the industry. Many visitors took the opportunity directly on site to discuss application examples and best practice with well-known industry leaders. On the new large exhibitor stage, numerous exhibiting companies were able to present their innovations and individual solutions on many practical topics for the first time over two days and accompanying seminars were offered for the first time in an adjacent conference area.

Networking all along the line

The networking character was particularly in focus this year. Throughout the event, the participants took advantage of the opportunity to exchange snacks and drinks about the impressions on site, have customer conversations or simply take a break on the spacious and centrally located networking area.

On Wednesday evening, another highlight was also invited here, the popular get-together. The exhibitors and visitors accepted the invitation to deepen their contacts in a casual atmosphere with a cool drink and to end the first day of the fair in the summer sounds of a live duo.

Next time, the HAMBURG OPEN will take place again as an annual kick-off event on the 18th and 19th. January 2023 in Hall B6 of the Hamburg exhibition center.

The Hamburg Open has already firmly established itself in the broadcast and media technology industry in recent years under the organization of Studio Hamburg MCI as a mixture of industry meeting place and trade fair. Since 2020, Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH has been organizing the HAMBURG OPEN in its halls in cooperation with Studio Hamburg MCI. In 2022, more than 170 exhibiting companies showed their innovations and current industry trends. A large number of established and new manufacturers of transmission technology, intercom systems, video mixers, audio mixers, cameras, displays, converters, media technology, post-production technology and many other areas are represented. Users from the event technology (e.g. Camera technology, sound technology, sound engineering, media technology, system integration, lighting design), e.g. from private and public broadcasters, have the opportunity to inform and exchange information on the latest topics in a relaxed atmosphere and within the comprehensive supporting program.
