Thinking ahead, preserving the existing and anticipating the future. This is the order of the day in the forestry and timber industry to make the forest bioeconomy system fit for the future. More than ever, extensive knowledge, experience from other regions and testing new technologies are part of the equipment of everyone involved in the wood value chain. INTERFORST 2022, which will take place from the 17th to the 20th July in Munich, offers with its supporting program an extensive knowledge kit to prepare forest, forestry and timber industry for future challenges.

 

The knowledge base

 

Politics, associations and the public provide the framework for development and use in forestry and forestry. The Green Couch in Hall B6 is the proven piece of furniture on which political decision-makers take a seat with association representatives or representatives of the public to discuss in a compact form how the forestry and timber industry could position itself.

 

The Bavarian Minister of State Michaela Kaniber, the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Cem Özdemir and Josef Ziegler, President of the Bavarian Forest Owners Association, give in the forest policy opening talk on the 17th. July from 11:00 a.m.

 

The perception of the public on the question “What about the image of forestry?” – also on the 17th. July – the forest blogger and forest engineer Fee Brauwers, the chairman of the board of the Bavarian State Forests, Martin Neumeyer, and Norbert Harrer, chairman of the Professional Association of Forestry Entrepreneurs in Bavaria e.V.

 

Topics on the following days, such as the future of European forests or the view of the new wood age in the construction industry, give all trade fair visitors a good insight into which networks the forestry and timber industry must prove and contribute.

 

In addition, on the 17th. July from 1:30 p.m. the Forest Entrepreneurs’ Day with a focus on the private forest, on the political framework conditions and communication tasks related to the use of forestry technology will take place. This is organized by the cluster initiative Forst und Holz with ProHolz Bayern. Participation in the Entrepreneurs’ Day is by invitation.

Equipped with political and association knowledge in this way, trade fair visitors can use another module for their further training: the visit to the congress. On the 19th July and 20. July 2022, science shares its latest findings on the priorities “forest condition – climate change”, “forest conservation – recycling lines” and “forestry technology – digitization.” Representatives of the most renowned research institutions on the subject of forests report, among other things, on model projects, climate-resilient forest concepts or exploitation issues.

The Board of Trustees for Forest Work and Forestry Technology e.V. (KWF) offers another station in the INTERFORST training program in cooperation with the partners DGUV and EZG: The special show “Forest conversion – Reforestation” in Hall B6 bundles all the answers to the question “How do we shape the forest of tomorrow?” Plant assortments, new tree species, sowing and planting processes, digital support for reforestation or young plant protection complement the knowledge pool of all INTERFORST visitors for their activities. In addition, the forums – also in hall B6 – are also worth a visit. “Forestry in transition – only what changes remains!” is the title under which experts from science and practice present their approaches to silviculture, forest development and communication.

 

To the user in the forestry or The DLG-ForstPraxisArena focuses on municipal operations. This is about the daily use of forestry machines and municipal technology. Different tasks require special machine technology – the demonstrations on this special show of more than 5,000 square meters are a must for every practitioner.

If you are looking for new markets, you will also gain your impulses in the supporting program. With the matchmaking workshop “Southeastern Europe”, INTERFORST, supported by the DLG, takes a look at the development opportunities in Southeast Europe:

 

After the presentation of the economic area by the international forestry expert Daniel Paul Dima, the event offers information on interesting potential target countries. Investment-relevant background and the national forest development goals of the target regions show what is needed there. Through testimonials from companies already active in the target markets, the company ready to invest and expansion gets a clear view of challenges and opportunities.
