Agricultural fair Green Days Thuringia offers the agricultural industry the big stage again in September 2022

From 23rd to 25th September 2022 will take place at the Erfurt exhibition center on the 11th. The agricultural fair Green Days Thuringia will take place. In three halls as well as in the outdoor area, the diversity of Thuringian agriculture will then be presented transparently and eventfully again on 46,000 square meters.

The numerous products and services of our exhibitors as well as our extensive and very attractive supporting program reflect the versatility of the agriculture, food and forestry of our country. Special highlights, such as the agricultural technology presentation in the outdoor area as well as numerous animal shows, make the Green Days of Thuringia an extraordinary experience,” says Michael Kynast, Managing Director of Messe Erfurt GmbH.

Around 200 exhibitors will present all facets of contemporary, sustainable agriculture. Visitors can expect modern agricultural technology, a variety of top-class animal breeding competitions and an exhibition on horticulture. Furthermore, visitors will receive information on the topics of renewable raw materials in Thuringia, digitization in agriculture as well as training, further education and further education opportunities in the Green Professions. Innovation projects in Thuringia are also presented and of course a wide variety of regional products is offered.

Patron of the Green Days of Thuringia 2022 is the Thuringian Minister of Infrastructure and Agriculture Susanna Karawanskij. It attaches great importance to the fair. The Green Days of Thuringia are the exhibition of our rural areas and our agriculture. Farms ensure our food security, secure jobs and create value in the regions. At this fair, it becomes clear that we have already made far progress in setting up our agriculture innovative, environmentally friendly, resource-saving and economically viable,” says the minister.

The exhibition and supporting program covers the entire green industry: food, horticulture, bioenergy and renewable raw materials, animal husbandry and husbandry to beekeeping, agricultural machinery, rural development, forestry and nature conservation. The fair is accompanied by numerous specialist congresses, professional and breeding competitions as well as hands-on activities for the public.

Three Rinder-Bundesschau will be held: the Thuringia Jersey Open – Open Federal Show of the Association of German Jersey Breeders, the Bundesschau Galloway of the Bundesverband Deutscher Galloway-Züchter e.V. and the Bundesschau of the Verband Deutscher Welsh Black Züchter und Halter e.V..

In cooperation with the Thuringian Farmers’ Association e.V., the Thuringian State Office for Agriculture and Rural Areas (TLLLR) and other long-standing and committed partners, a diverse program is again offered. The offers of the Thuringian Farmers’ Association range from tasting and selling Thuringian products via the Thuringian Forest Shop to information about Thuringian direct marketers and their products, modern animal husbandry and animal welfare to the interactive hands-on exhibition “Cool Green Professions” as well as virtual stable tours with VR glasses and tractor driving in the farming simulator.

The TLLLR presents, among other things, the topic “Diversity in Thuringian fields” – in particular: native protein crops, cultivation and use of medicinal, fragrance and spice plants, renewable raw materials and habitats for insects. Another focus is the “Innovation Projects: Ideas for the Agriculture of Tomorrow.” Here you will find information on innovation promotion EIP-Agri (European Innovation Partnership “Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability”), which is about working together to develop innovative solutions. Operational groups from Thuringia will present their projects at the fair.

Green professions

Many areas of the agricultural fair focus on young talent. The image of the farmer has changed completely in recent years. Knowledge of computer science and business knowledge now play an essential role in animal and plant production as well as in mechanics for agricultural and construction machinery technology. The high-tech machines of the agricultural world must be mastered by well-trained professionals. On an open space of around 10,000 square meters, trade fair visitors can visit the innovative, efficient agricultural machinery, construction machinery and municipal technology.

Ambitious young people can take the opportunity to make contacts with the exhibitors directly on site and to apply for an apprenticeship. Seeing, marveling, informing, among other things, at the level of education in Hall 1. Here, training and further education opportunities in the field of agriculture and forestry are presented as well as internships and training places are placed. As usual, the first day of the fair is aimed at school classes as usual.
