Eurobike in Frankfurt puts the bicycle in the fast lane – Innovations previewed at press tour
Frankfurt – With a fresh tailwind, the 30th Eurobike confirms its importance as a platform for the international bike business. From July 13 to 17, the leading trade show will open its doors for the first time in Frankfurt am Main. On board are more than 1,500 exhibiting companies from 57 nations, which will present the innovations of the bike and future mobility industry on 140,000 square meters of hall and outdoor exhibition space.
Before the start of the trade show on Wednesday, some innovations were presented in advance during the press tour:
The speed pedelec may still not have had its breakthrough in some countries. But in Switzerland, these fast e-bikes have long been a well-established means of mobility for longer commuter routes. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the premiere of the ST7 by Stromer, a Swiss manufacturer, will demonstrate the latest achievements in this field. We can’t reveal much at this point, but let’s just say that range anxiety is a thing of the past.
SRAM: Flight Attendant
Electronics have become indispensable to bicycles – not only in the form of an electric drive. With its RockShox line of suspension products and its new Flight Attendant suspension system, American bicycle supplier SRAM shows how electronic sensors and the networking of components are propelling the mountain bike segment into a new technological era.
Trelock: Smart Screen Technology
The Smart Screen Technology from Münster-based lights and safety specialist Trelock will turn the streets into a projection surface for visual communication between cyclists and other road users in the future: Controlled by micro mirrors, bike lights will project, for example, distance marks and cycle symbols onto the road. It will even be possible to display video sequences or warnings – as in the case of black ice.
Hase Bikes: Pino Cargo
Cycling solutions for special applications – that is the realm in which bicycle manufacturer Hase Bikes excels. With the Pino Cargo, the company from the Ruhr area is presenting an all-rounder that can easily be transformed from a cargo bike to a tandem or a city bike in just a few steps.
Abimota: Bike Value Portugal
The reason why the Eurobike tour makes a stop at the Portuguese bike association Abimota is neither a new bike model nor a new bike component, but instead the current trend of having more and more bicycle-related production come (back) from Asia to Europe. How did Portugal find itself at the center of this shift? That is exactly what we’re going to find out in the discussion with the creators of “Bike Value Portugal”.
The 30th edition of Eurobike runs from Wednesday 13 July, to Sunday 17 July 2022, from 09:00 to 18:00 each day and is open to the general public on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, please visit: www.eurobike.com.
