Experience innovations and products with all your senses as well as personal exchange and business contacts from all over the world – this is what the REHACARE community is looking forward to the restart of the leading international trade fair for rehabilitation and care from the 14th to the 17th. September in Düsseldorf. Professionals and those affected can expect an extensive range of aids, services and innovative products for almost every disability as well as for the care sector for four days. REHACARE offers something exciting for every age group – forums, special shows and numerous program highlights make visiting the fair twice as attractive. In addition, numerous associations and organizations from self-help and the social economy offer advice and address current issues from all areas.

Hannes Niemann, Project Director of Messe Düsseldorf, is very confident about REHACARE in September: “Due to the positive exhibitor feedback, we can already say that the meeting at REHACARE after a two-year corona break will be an absolute highlight for the industry. In addition to top brands such as Otto Bock, MEYRA, Sunrise, Dietz or thyssenkrupp, almost all well-known companies will be represented in Düsseldorf and will start with many exciting products and ideas. The effects of the pandemic are still noticeable, but it is important that it starts again, that we offer space for personal exchange and provide impulses for a self-determined life, autonomy and inclusion with all participating companies, associations and organizations.”

Whether mobility and everyday aids, aids for outpatient or inpatient care, communication technology, barrier-free construction and living or ideas for leisure, travel and sports – REHACARE offers everything under one roof. The trade fair with forums and a thematically diverse supporting program takes place on four days in Halls 4 to 7 of the Düsseldorf exhibition center.

MEETING POINT REHACARE: Live there!

The center for encounters, exchange of experiences, information and discussions is the TREFFPUNKT REHACARE in Hall 6. It offers daily changing focal points on

  • Questions from the daily life of those affected,
  • Supply of aids, quality and legal developments,
  • Participation in working life and role of integration offices,
  • Topics from the field of culture, mobility & sport.

The lectures and panel discussions are organized by associations, professional associations, offices and self-help groups, among others.

Clear the stage for innovations: PRODUCTS & NEWS@REHACARE

What the rehabilitation and care industry has to offer in terms of novelties and innovative strength, the forum PRODUCTS & NEWS@REHACARE brings from the stands to the stage. Among other things, mobility aids, wheelchair accessories, aids for people with sensory disabilities and motor disabilities as well as therapies and aids for rehabilitation and care are presented. Through the program in Hall 4, the impressions gained during the knife tour can be deepened in a central location. The stage program with interesting interview partners from the industry and first-hand information complete the trade fair. Volker Neumann, editor and editor-in-chief of the MOBITIPP guide, moderates the forum and joins the agenda with his own lectures.

Children with disabilities in view

The care of children is also the focus of the action in Hall 4. Parents and relatives will find all the necessary tools at the exhibition stands, from wheelchairs to communication aids for inclusive lessons. Here are, among others Market leaders such as ATO FORM GmbH, BeRollKa-aktiv Rollstuhltechnik GmbH, PATRON Bohemia a.s. or Schuchmann GmbH & Co. KG as an exhibitor. There is also an extensive range of advice from rehaKIND, the International Support Association for Children and Youth Rehabilitation e.V., Dortmund. The “Kids World” once again provides a lot of fun and games for the youngest REHACARE visitors. Here, the little ones are lovingly looked after during the visit to the fair.

The Show must go on: Automobile manufacturers and converters at REHACARE

As you can also be mobile with a handicap, special providers present in Hall 6 with their individually adapted conversions and installations. In the case of cars, function and comfort are geared to the requirements of their drivers. Manufacturers with their barrier-free converted vehicles such as AMF-Bruns GmbH & Co. are involved. People with disabilities and work

In the theme park “People with disabilities and work”, near the REHACARE Forum, visitors can obtain comprehensive information about working life and inclusion. Young people, but also more and more older people, want to return to work with a “acquired” disability – various institutions present ideas for the transformation of the workplace and assist interested parties with words and deeds.

New at the trade fair: Exoskeleton Park

In Hall 6, manufacturers of industrial exoskeletons and rehabilitation robotics give the starting signal for a new stage at the fair in the Exoskeleton Park. How can new technologies support social and professional participation with reduced mobility? What needs and solutions are there? The focus of the Exoskeleton Park with Symposium includes the areas of workplace systems, new digital auxiliary technologies and assistance robotics for rehabilitation. The exoskeleton solutions of the participating companies can be tried out at the exhibition stands. Partners of the Exoskeleton Park are the Fraunhofer IPA from Stuttgart, the Landschaftsverband Rheinland LVR, the Landschaftsverband Wesfalen-Lippe, the Wearable Robotics Association WEARRA and the German Foundation for Paraplegia DSQ.

Support for long Covid sufferers

The topic of Long Covid will attract great attention at REHACARE after two years of pandemic. 10 to 15 percent of people infected with the coronavirus suffer from Long Covid after the acute infection and are often severely disabled by the disease. The clinical picture and symptoms are very complex and little researched so far. As different as the symptoms are, so different are the requirements for appropriate treatment. The problem: Integrated care concepts and multimodal therapeutic approaches are hardly available in our health system. REHACARE is the first trade fair to show solutions in which experts inform about targeted therapeutic approaches and the latest findings on the subject of post- and long Covid. With a network of family doctors, long Covid outpatient clinics, rehabilitation clinics and self-help groups, the trade fair is thus the first point of contact for those seeking help.

Everyday life and relaxed travel

Companies from industry and associations show what the aid market has to offer people with sensory and motor disabilities in terms of innovations and products in Hall 5. This is also about the most beautiful weeks of the year: At the certified providers such as TMGS (Tourismus Marketing Gesellschaft Sachsen mbH), the Fundació Mallorca Turisme, SailWise (for a tailor-made sailing holiday in the Netherlands), De Egmonden from Egmond aan Zee or the Heidehotel Bad Bevensen, everyone will find the right travel offer, no matter what special requirements or restrictions must be taken into account when choosing the holiday.

One of the highlights at REHACARE: Sports Center

Rehabilitation, prevention and therapy through sport are the topics in Hall 7a. The Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia e.V. (BRSNW) shows the many possibilities of sporting activities for disabled, chronically ill, but also the elderly and invites you to numerous hands-on activities. On board for the first time: The German Sailing Association e. V. At REHACARE 2022, he will show what a great, inclusive sport sailing can be, what is planned in the future and what opportunities are already available at the moment.
