Vietnamese market is growing
VietnamWood has been taking place in Ho Chi Minh City since 2001 – initially annually, since 2007 every two years – and has been able to increase in the past in all success-relevant key figures – whether among exhibitors, space or visitors. The local wood and furniture industry has been growing by double digits for years and is investing at a high level; furniture production has had annual growth rates of 15 percent since 2005. Vietnam is now one of the world’s leading exporters of wooden furniture, with a central importance of the woodworking and processing sector for the Vietnamese economy. “This gives the market great potential for solution providers from Europe,” welcomes Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of VDMA Woodworking Machines, as co-organizer of HOLZ-HANDWERK, the expansion of NürnbergMesse’s international activities: “We are pleased that the member companies in the Woodworking Machinery Association are also best advised and accompanied by NürnbergMesse in the event of trade fair participations in the Vietnamese market.”
