Cooperation with radio stations
The cultural program of the stage in the city park is fixed. During the day, the regional media companies Radio Hit Allgäu and the Rundfunkhaus Allgäu with allgäu.tv and RSA Radio, as well as the Bayerischer Rundfunk, take over. The stage program of the Bayerischer Rundfunk starts on Friday, August 12th. with the Bayern 3 Band. On Saturday, August 13th the BR presents the “Regionaltag Schwaben Allgäu” and on Sunday, 14.08. “BR Heimat” and “Brass music by and with Schorsch Ried sounds so beautiful”. From Tuesday, 16.08. until Friday, 19.08. Radio Allgäu Hit organizes the program with contributions to the theme days. From food sharing and environmentally friendly hiking, to autonomous driving to the multi-generational house in Roßhaupten and first-aid measures at the lake, there will be various contributions in cooperation with regional associations and companies.
The Rundfunkhaus Allgäu finally takes over on Saturday, August 20th. initially with allgäu.tv from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. the stage. Together with the “Förderverein mundART Allgäu e.V.” and various music groups, they create an entertaining stage program on the topics of culture, customs and tradition.
On Sunday, August 21st RSA Radio will be a guest on the Stadtpark stage from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.: The Kempten police, the BRK motorcycle specialist service and the Johanniter rescue dog squadron will give visitors exciting insights into their work and useful information about training and civil protection there.
“Brass music keeps you young” – The ASM district senior citizens’ orchestra as a guest at the Allgäu Festival Week
On Monday, August 15th Traditional brass band music can be heard on the stage in the city park for an afternoon during the Assumption Day. On this day, the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association sends the district senior orchestras from the Sonthofen, Kaufbeuren, Lindau and Mindelheim regions. For three quarters of an hour each, the orchestras present a “best of” their repertoire, consisting mainly of well-known marches, waltzes and polkas. During the changeover breaks on the stage, the guests have the pleasure of listening to the sounds of the alphorns, which play under the direction of Edwin Reisach. The district senior orchestras in the ASM consist of experienced musicians from the home clubs in the respective ASM district. On the public holiday they invite you to sing along, clap and sway along to four and a half hours of the most beautiful brass music and prove that brass music knows no age.
Concerts on the stage in the city park
Not only is there something on offer during the day, the evening program on the stage in the city park is now also set: It traditionally starts with spectacular dance performances by various dance schools from Kempten and the Allgäu.
On the first weekend of the event, the Sirachaboys, Sassafrass and Daniel Kemish will perform from 8 p.m. From Monday to Thursday there are also concerts with Suzie Candel, the Poor Boys and Hanglage from 8 p.m.
On Tuesday, August 16th the popular festival of lights awaits festival visitors in the evening in front of the stage. Atmospheric live music by Man n Maid and thousands of brightly colored candles, a flamer show and a small fireworks display make children’s eyes shine. On the last weekend of the event, Blöff the Monkey, Kühl, Die Musterknaben and MelliJoe will set the mood on stage.
New event highlight: city park lights
The Allgäu Festival Week finds its glittering conclusion on August 21st. with a new event highlight: Under the title “City Park Lights”, the entire city park shines with various fire and light installations on Sunday evening. Whether small ground fireworks, moving images of flames and flame bowls or the scenic staging of the copper pavilion roof of the Sparkasse underground car park – the city park has a very special flair on this evening and the Allgäu Festival Week finds its culmination in a brilliant fireworks display on the Zumsteinwiese.
The 71st Allgäu Festival Week takes place from August 13th to 21st.
