【DE】European hydrogen start-up hub and decarbXpo cooperate

The H2UB, Europe’s hydrogen hub for start-ups, companies and research and the trade fair for industrial decarbonization and energy storage, decarbXpo, have signed a cooperation agreement. As part of the cooperation, the partners network young companies in the hydrogen industry with industrial users and leading industry associations.

Decarbonization requires cross-industry cooperation

he cross-industrial and cross-sectoral approach of decarbXpo fits perfectly with the innovation in the hydrogen sector that accompanies the H2UB: “It is not individual industries, but almost all economic sectors that can reduce their climate-relevant emissions with the help of hydrogen. Upstream and downstream processes of the hydrogen value chain, supplier chains and the conversion and expansion of the infrastructure require a strategic approach. Only in this way can all users be supplied with hydrogen sufficiently and at the right time and plan and implement the use of hydrogen in the corporate context.” A common roadmap and an active exchange of all actors are essential here, and start-ups play an important role in this, says Uwe Kerkmann, Managing Director of H2UB.

Joint stand “Experience H2 Innovation with H2UB”

The H2UB will offer a presentation and communication space for start-ups from the hydrogen sector at decarbXpo. Along the entire value chain from generation, storage and forwarding to the use of hydrogen in different industries and sectors, the H2UB invites start-ups to apply for a place at the joint stand “Experience H2 Innovation with H2UB”. The H2UB is also involved in the accompanying program of decarbXpo. “We offer start-ups from the hydrogen industry an excellent opportunity to present their innovations and ideas to a specialist audience from different industries and economic sectors and thus potential pilot customers,” says Kerkmann.

decarbXpo uses industrial network of Messe Düsseldorf

As one of the world’s largest trade fair companies, Messe Düsseldorf has an industrial network with several hundred thousand visitor contacts in industries such as the glass, metal, plastic and paper industries. In addition, there are user industries for energy storage and decarbonization technologies such as trade and medical technology. Young companies can benefit from this network: “Start-ups in the hydrogen sector meet different industries, international companies and heads with strategic foresight at decarbXpo who are interested in joint projects. The openness of the industry to hydrogen innovations is very great. We are sure that the H2UB H2 Innovation Platform will be well attended at decarbXpo,” adds Bernd Jablonowski, Executive Director, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.

The H2UB is available at decarbXpo from 20 to 22. September 2022 in Hall 9, Booth number 9 C 52.
