Partner fair EnergyDecentral focuses on current energy discussion

Transforming Animal Farming – International Specialist Program
Transforming Animal Farming – the guiding theme of EuroTier 2022 – focuses on one topic: The production and value chains are on the move. The world’s leading trade fair for professional livestock farming will show where the journey can go for pig, cattle and poultry producers in its specialist program in various DLG spotlights and the digital platform DLG-Connect.
- DLG spotlight: Overall company husbandry concepts (Hall 26)
Sustainable husbandry concepts must be animal-friendly, environmentally friendly, climate-friendly and consumer-oriented and competitive at the same time. Experts have taken on this complex task and present comprehensive husbandry concepts for fattening pigs, sows and piglets, dairy cows and chickens for young.
- DLG Spotlight: Feed for Future (Hall 21)
Feed formulations are constantly being adapted and new feed and feeding methods are established to increase animal welfare or to reduce nutrient overhangs in order to enable environmentally friendly use. Leading companies in the international feed industry present innovative feed, processes and recipes. This also includes novel protein sources from algae and insects, which are now available as alternatives for protein supply.
- DLG Spotlight Direct Marketing (Hall 26)
Products from our own region with comprehensible origin are important reasons for more and more people to buy agricultural products “directly from the farmer”. The farm’s own processing and direct sales are therefore becoming attractive for agricultural companies. For the first time, technical solutions, products and services as well as current marketing strategies will be summarized in a special show on the basis of best practice examples at EuroTier 2022.
- DLG Spotlight: Aquaculture Lounge (Hall 21)
What potential for alternative sources of raw materials does growth in water offer? What innovations are there here for feed, food and energy? The Aquaculture Lounge invites you to get to know the possibilities offered by the production of fish, mussels, crabs and aquatic plants. The DLG and the Innovation Space Blue Bioeconomy of Kiel University create space for an international meeting place.
- Network Focus Animal Welfare (Hall 26)
The nationwide joint project “Network Focus Animal Welfare” funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) provides answers to current animal welfare questions. In the field of poultry, these include, among other things, the keeping of uncapped animals and improving the housing environment. In the cattle sector, the animal welfare experts inform about topics such as cow-bound calf rearing, feeding and treads. For pig farmers, there are information on alternative farrowing systems, on stable construction concepts for sow husbandry and rearing piglets as well as on experiences with isoflurane.
- TopTierTreff – International Marketplace of Top Genetics (Hall 11)
A “must” for national and international cattle breeders is the TopTierTreff. Leading German and international breeding companies and organizations from the dairy and meat cattle sector present themselves here with their breeding animals. In addition, trade visitors can take a look at national and international sheep and goat breeds. Breeding animals and offspring of the various milk breeds are presented several times a day on the stage of the TopTierTreff and commented on by experts. A specialist program around breeding issues as well as milk and meat production completes the information offer.
- Forum events
The trade fair forums offer the possibility of direct exchange with national and international experts. In the DLG forum “Pig & Poultry” (Hall 17), they provide answers to whether it makes more sense under the current framework conditions to further specialize or to position yourself broadly as a company and to rely on diversification. A question that arises above all for the pig-holding companies from the export-oriented countries Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium or Denmark.
In the DLG forum “Milk & Beef” (Hall 12), recognized experts comment on current issues of milk production and cattle husbandry. Especially in the export nations of dairy products, the trend is towards process optimization through automation and digitization. In Europe, the focus is on animal welfare, sustainability, climate protection and transparency in the process chain. Worldwide, there is a trend towards greater efficiency, animal health and associated higher product quality.
- Industry events and congresses
EuroTier is also a platform for numerous industry events and congresses. These include the Cattle & Pig Event, the Poultry Conference, the Animal Health event and the DLG-Talks Tier (Hall 26) on the topics of food security, climate impact, animal welfare and sustainability. The Federal Association of Practising Veterinarians (bpt) will hold its annual congress with over 2,500 veterinarians as well as the associated trade fair “Veterinary Medicine” overlapping with EuroTier 2022.
