  • 353 exhibitors from 21 countries
  • Around 31,000 visitors from almost 60 countries
  • INTERFORST as a platform for sustainable forest policy

Germany has eleven million hectares of forest. An area that is of enormous importance and particularly worthy of protection, not least because of climate protection. How and which machines and technologies can support this was shown by INTERFORST, which from 17th to 20th. July took place at the exhibition center in Munich. A total of 353 exhibitors from 21 countries and around 31,000 visitors from almost 60 countries took part in this leading international trade fair for forestry and forestry technology.

For Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Managing Director of Messe München, is “INTERFORST an incredible story this year. The response of the industry is really impressive and shows how important INTERFORST is in times like these. With the topics of forest conversion, forest renewal and climate protection, we have hit a socio-political nerve. Forestry and forestry technology are enormously important in the fight against the climate crisis.”

INTERFORST confirms leading trade fair character

For industry representatives, the importance of INTERFORST and the importance of personal encounters are undisputed. Ralf Dreeke, Managing Director of Wahlers Forsttechnik and Chairman of the INTERFORST Advisory Board, draws a very positive conclusion: “We feel it immediately every day of the fair: The industry wants to meet ‘live’ again and uses INTERFORST for this. The visitor structure also fits our products – the forestry professionals come here.” Gert Unterreiner, Managing Director at Unterreiner Forstgeräte, also emphasizes the importance of the fair: “INTERFORST in Munich is an extremely important trade fair for the entire industry” and Markus Prenninger, Managing Director at PALFINGER EPSILON, adds: “INTERFORST as the leading international trade fair offers us the best platform to enter into dialogue with our customers. Fantastic weather and bright faces – especially after the long break, everyone was happy about the personal exchange.” Michael Liehr, Head of Marketing at STIHL Sales Headquarters, seamlessly agrees with this: “Already the first two days of the fair have overwhelmed us. The numerous visitors to our stand were visibly just as happy as our employees that we were finally able to meet again ‘live and in color’. And of course, that we were able to present our latest innovations to the professional audience. Because digitization in forestry is an essential topic of the future. INTERFORST has thus fully taken full account of its reputation as a marketplace.”

INTERFORST as a platform for sustainable forest policy

Also, and above all, politicians know about the importance of the resource forest. Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, emphasized at the opening of INTERFORST: “The goal is to create adapted, resilient and multifunctional forests. Sustainable forest policy requires the involvement of forest owners, practitioners, science and politics. INTERFORST offers a great opportunity to do this. The fair takes up the challenge for our forest.” And Michaela Kaniber, Bavarian Minister of State for Food, Agriculture and Forestry, adds: “Of course, we are incredibly proud that the whole thing takes place in Munich – and you can see that the industry is very diverse, very digitized, incredibly modern and visionary.”

Petra Westphal, project manager of INTERFORST, is happy about the result: “This year everything was different. The duration of the fair, the event days, the terrain occupancy – felt simply everything. But the industry has supported all these changes and even more: It has confirmed INTERFORST in its position as the leading trade fair for forestry and forestry technology and made it a great event for all of us.”

The next INTERFORST will take place in July 2026 at the exhibition center in Munich.
