【DE】Enabling Technologies met live at the W3+ Fair in Wetzlar 2022

There were many satisfied faces on the evening of the 7th. July, when the doors closed after two days of the fair in Wetzlar. 126 exhibitors, partners and sponsors and more than 1500 visitors had made their way to the Buderus Arena Wetzlar to talk about new innovations and solutions and network across industries. The exhibitors of Enabling Technologies in optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics came from 11 countries: In addition to Germany and Switzerland, France, England, the USA, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Lichtenstein and China were represented at the event.


In addition to the exhibition, there was a lot of inspiration from the extensive supporting program. The accompanying conference en-tech.talks took place on two stages this year. In addition to the presentations on New Technologies, Business Opportunities, Applications and Industry 4.0, there were interesting lecture blocks on the top topics of Defense & Security, supported by OptecNet Germany, and Quantum. New were also the high-power laser workshop of Wetzlar Network, the workshop forest@photonics of OptecBB, the IHK Hessen innovativ Fläche, the start-up pitch from regional management Mittelhessen, the C-Level Coffee from Wetzlar Network, the VDI special area with the network breakfast, the visit to two specialist working groups of the IHK Gießen-Friedberg and the special area of EOS/ Additive Minds Academy. In total, more than 60 speakers offered their expertise on the conference stage or in the workshops.


Jörg Brück, Project Director of the W3+ Fair, draws a positive conclusion after the fair: “Networking needs personal encounter – the fair has shown this again. The restart in Wetzlar after the corona break was very well received by all exhibitors and visitors. For the upcoming W3+ Fair, we are relying on even more inspiration through new innovation areas and extended networking opportunities.”


The next W3+ Fair Rheintal will take place on the 30th. November + 01. December in Dornbirn/Austria (D/A/CH/LI). The W3+ Fair Wetzlar will follow on the 22nd. + 23. March 2023 again in the old rhythm.



About the W3+ Fair


The event dates back to an industrial initiative in Wetzlar and Central Hesse, which aims to promote the networking of the four industries of optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics. Future-oriented technologies are to be launched through new interfaces. The fair took place for the first time in February 2014 at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar. The W3+ Fair is organized by the Hamburg trade fair organizer FLEET Events (www.fleet-events.de). In September 2019, the W3+ Fair Rheintal celebrated its premiere in the four-country region of Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany with the gold partners EPIC, Swissphotonics and Photonics Austria.
