BIOFACH trade fair trends:

From “climate positive” to “animal welfare”

In addition to current global crises and the associated challenges, the megatrend of sustainability continues to set the agenda for the organic food industry. And so all trends of the BIOFACH Summer Edition 2022 are directly related to this one. In production and trade, people pay attention to the lowest possible carbon footprint in the products, question packaging and its sustainability, they focus on local raw materials and take animal welfare into account – if they put meat or fish on their food plan. All this is reflected in the trade fair trends of the BIOFACH Summer Edition 2022: “Climate-conscious products”, “home raw materials”, “sustainable packaging solutions” and “animal welfare”.

VIVANESS trade fair trends:

From “plastic avoidance” to “local heroes”

As with food, cosmetics focus on sustainability and ecology. This can also be seen in this year’s VIVANESS trade fair trends: Plastic avoidance, Natural vegan cosmetics, Holistic Haircare and Local Heroes.

In natural cosmetics – as in the overall market – “plastic avoidance” is an important goal. Your manufacturers have been on their way under this motto for a long time and live this goal in product and packaging – inside and outside. Social developments such as a stronger focus on diversity and holisticism continue to gain in importance. This can be seen, for example, in special products for more textured hair or in the trend towards “skinification” in hair care; this begins with the scalp. Natural vegan cosmetics not only dispense with animal ingredients, but also with micro-plastics or mineral oil derivatives as substitutes. And as in the food market, local raw materials and ingredients – “Local Heroes” – are also enjoying growing popularity in the natural cosmetics market.

The trends of the trade fair duo are determined every year on the basis of the novelties registered for the novelty stand. In 2022, these are a total of 443 products (BIOFACH: 364, VIVANESS 79). In addition, trade visitors to the trade fair duo will discover further innovations and trends again this year at the 2,276 exhibitors from 94 countries, as well as at the two joint stands for young innovative companies (GMSJU), which are funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI). A total of 45 start-ups and newcomers will be there in 2022 (BIOFACH: 32, VIVANESS 13). In addition, there are 14 international newcomers on the special area Breeze.

VIVANESS: Premiere for Breeze Talks and Workshop Area

For the Summer Edition of VIVANESS, which takes place once with 176 exhibitors in Halls 8 and 9, two new formats promise even more know-how and inspiration. There will be a Breeze Talk twice a day on the Breeze special area, all about everything worth knowing about the represented brands. Also for the first time at the VIVANESS Summer Edition is a workshop area, with three daily interactive sessions on the topics of ethical sourcing, stroner together and go to market.

With this year’s congress focus Organic.Climate.Resilience, IFOAM – Organics International, the international patron of BIOFACH around the globe, the Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft (BÖLW) and the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, BIOFACH, focus on Bio’s valuable contribution to more climate protection and a more resil
