At the CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf from 27. August to 4. September 2022 (Preview Day on 26. August), visitors can look forward to a unique selection of mobile leisure. “Passion that connects” is the motto. Once again, the Düsseldorf exhibition center becomes the most important meeting place for all friends of caravanning for ten days. At the world’s largest trade fair for motorhomes, caravans and equipment, more than 650 exhibitors present recreational vehicles for every taste and budget in 16 halls and on the outdoor area. In addition to motorhomes, caravans and campervans, vehicle technology, components and expansion parts, tents, mobile homes, caravanning and camping accessories & equipment, outdoor clothing and equipment, tourism destinations as well as natural regions, camping and parking offers are offered.
The countdown is on: The CARAVAN SALON is getting closer and closer and will attract caravanning fans from Germany, Europe and all over the world to Düsseldorf again from the end of August! Messe Düsseldorf and the Caravaning Industrie Verband (CIVD) as an ideal carrier look forward to the 61st with great anticipation. CARAVAN SALON, which is on its way back to old strength after two years marked by the corona pandemic. In Düsseldorf, the vehicle selection is huge – from the mini caravan with sleeping place and cooking facilities for the small purse to the rolling luxury motorhome, everything the caravanning heart desires is included. At the CARAVAN SALON, almost all well-known national and international manufacturers present the latest generation of motorhomes and caravans.
StarterWelt for newcomers and interested parties
The holiday form of caravanning inspires more and more people. In order for newcomers and interested visitors to really find the right one for the large selection of trade fairs, a visit to the “StarterWelt” in Hall 7 is recommended. In the service-oriented and customer-friendly consulting platform, there are interesting facts about mobile leisure for everyone. In the “StarterWelt” the professionals give practical tips and recommendations on vehicle types, itineraries or the right choice of campsite and are also available for specific questions and individual advice. In addition, the lecture forum offers a varied program on a wide variety of starter topics of mobile leisure.
The passion for caravanning does not stop behind the exhibition halls, but also leads many visitors to the popular Caravan Center in the trade fair parking lot P1 (large parking lot P1). The largest parking space in Europe – during the duration of the CARAVAN SALON – with around 3,500 supplied and unserved parking spaces brings visitors and exhibitors together. Due to the high demand, the parking spaces are quickly fully booked and should therefore be reserved early in the ticket shop. Reservations are only possible online at www.caravan-salon.de for visitors to the CARAVAN SALON.
The CARAVAN SALON is also exceptionally well positioned in the field of accessories, technical equipment and finishing parts. At no other caravanning event worldwide can professionals or end users find a larger, more comprehensive and international product range. In line with this, the special theme “Adventure Self-Emblying” will be placed for the first time in the outdoor area between Halls 5 and 9. Several self-built leisure vehicles show the many possibilities. Various daily lectures for beginners, advanced and professionals cover topics such as module installation, floor plan planning, electrical installations, lightweight materials, water supply, workshop and materials science, interior, costs and time factor.
- German parking space day: On the way to climate neutrality
The caravanning industry has experienced steady growth in recent years, the stock of recreational vehicles is at record high. The large sales of motorhomes and caravans and the associated development potential for many less developed tourism regions in Germany also require greater efforts to expand the caravanning infrastructure. In order to present successful parking space concepts and to further promote the expansion, on Monday, 29. August, at the CARAVAN SALON of the 2nd German pitch day. Main topics: Pilot project climate-neutral motorhome parking space, wine meets caravanning, and adjustment, parking, storage – The new portal for the accommodation of recreational vehicles.
Sample parking space in the outdoor area
In a proven way, the Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD) offers a unique special show on the subject of innovative parking technology and infrastructure on the outdoor area between halls 10 and 17. Proven experts and manufacturers show the current modules for successful planning of motorhome parking spaces. A special focus will be on the topic of electromobility. As in previous years, visitors have the opportunity to get advice from experts on site.
Hall 3: Equipment & Outdoor as well as Travel & Nature
In Hall 3, the focus is on Equipment & Outdoor as well as Travel & Nature. In the “Equipment & Outdoor” area, suppliers of tents, folding caravans, caravanning and camping accessories as well as outdoor clothing and equipment present themselves. Visitors can find the entire range of caravanning and camping tourism in the “Travel & Nature” area – here the most attractive camping and pitches, the most beautiful regions and the most diverse leisure activities are represented. The heart of Hall 3 is the stage “Travel & Nature CONNECTED” with a diverse and informative mix of entertainment and presentations. The interactive lectures combine stage presence and digital appearances – interested parties connected online can participate via a chat function and ask questions.
Symposium Nature. Tourism. Future
The corona pandemic has brought many people closer to the value of nature and the recreation in it. During the lockdowns, forests, local recreation areas and nearby destinations as well as their value have become more the focus of those seeking relaxation. This development makes it clear that value creation in tourism needs intact nature and environment, more than ever. For this, however, it requires the right infrastructure and the corresponding concepts on site. These topics will be discussed at the symposium “Nature.Tourism.Future” on the 30th. August at the CARAVAN SALON 2022. Participants can look forward to contributions to scientific findings, insights from industry, best practices from destinations and political assessments, among other things.
CIVD presents training profession
The new registrations of recreational vehicles have been reaching new highs for years. The need for skilled workers at manufacturers, workshops and trading companies is correspondingly high. In order to master this challenge, the CIVD, together with the Zentralverband Karosserie- und Fahrzeugtechnik (ZKF), has developed its own training field for the caravanning industry: With the specialization “Caravan and motorhome technology”, specialized specialists will be trained in the production, maintenance and repair of motorhomes and caravans in the future. The CIVD dedicates its own stand to the training profession on the outdoor area of this year’s CARAVAN SALON, where industry representatives inform potential trainees and parents about training content and the excellent career prospects in the caravanning industry.
CARAVAN SALON Club
At the beginning of 2000, Messe Düsseldorf created a customer loyalty program with the CARAVAN SALON Club, which enables a constant exchange with the visitors of the CARAVAN SALON and also serves as a platform for exhibitors. Meanwhile, more than 208,000 members are united in the world’s largest trade fair club. The club is completely free of charge and offers all caravanning fans helpful information as well as useful offers and price advantages. The community idea and mutual exchange plays a major role at the CARAVAN SALON Club thanks to the blog or the club forum. At the fair, members in the club lounge in hall 16 have the opportunity to meet other club members in a relaxed atmosphere or simply relax for a moment in peace.
E-bike course in front of Hall 15
The holiday form of caravanning is also particularly suitable for exploring the holiday resort with e-vehicles and bicycles and being mobile. In the outdoor area in front of Hall 15, the “e-bike course” offers visitors the opportunity to try out the riding characteristics of electric bikes, e-scooters, electric scooters and eco-movers in a separate terrain.
