With the rotating ISPO World Congress, which is now taking place for the first time in Mexico, we want to focus on the supply of aids in Latin America and intensify and expand the cooperation of the actors involved in an interdisciplinary manner. We want to improve the quality of life of people who depend on aids such as prostheses, orthoses or a wheelchair worldwide and give them more independence, says the president of ISPO Claude Tardif and adds “The supply of prosthetic or orthotic aids should not be a privilege but a self-evident medical care service, because only in this.”

With the aim of organizing the ISPO World Congress in many different parts of the world, the biennial event travels around the globe. After South Africa in 2017, Japan in 2019 and a purely virtual edition in 2021, the 19th Edition of the worldwide industry meeting in Latin America. Although the local host is ISPO Mexico, the World Congress is also organized in close cooperation with the national member airlines in Canada and the United States. Mexico is considered an emerging country, the Mexican market for medical devices is the second largest in Latin America after Brazil.

This year’s motto of the ISPO World Congress “The Art and the Science” combines two essential aspects that play a role in the supply of aids.
